  1. Met Brian and saw this car tonight. It's really a great car, the swap is EXTRA clean. Makes me want a conquest pretty bad. Just gotta find someone to straight trade my dart for one and I'll be in business. Can't wait to see track times from this thing.
  2. Close on the motors. The 2.4 startus/cirrus/caravan blocks are the same from 95-01. In 2002 they changed the head design and I think the oil drain out of the head. In 2003, they changed the crank signal, so the crank isn't the same. JE makes 8.8:1 pistons for it, Eagle and Crower both make rods. Crowers will hold insane power, Eagles are cheaper. There is a user on neons.org named all_motor_mike who builds custom manifolds. If you give him the specs, he'll build whatever you need. What else would be neat, is a 2.0 DOHC neon motor, with forged internals, and a turbo setup. It wont make instane power, but it will rev pretty quick. I wanna say is was the 89 supra turbo, and yes, any 2.2 dakota bell housing. They have a lot of information turbododge.com under the RWD swap section. A short search should yield you good results.
  3. That looks a whole lot like the burnout pit at the Carlisle fairgrounds, so it's not really a track, and it's been far damaged.
  4. Could always find a wrecked conquest with a good title and vin...
  5. Hey man, if you know anyone that's selling one, let me know! I'm looking all over for a decent one that can perform as my daily.
  6. Haha, I want to buy it before I do my taxes so I can spend my tax money on it! Haha, I actually got a few things I need to do with my taxes, like find a great trans for my 98 drag neon. Yeah, your move was a definate upgrade! I'm thinking of moving sometime either this year or next. I want to get out of Baltimore in the worst way, might move back to Anne Arundle county, but really, anywhere where I have a garage will be great.
  7. Haha, no, can't have another addiction, I'm just a huge fan of the Fallout series.
  8. I live in NW Baltimore, regardless to say, I didn't know the area before I bought my house. I grew up in Glen Burnie, and I still go there all the time. I have a couple of buddies that live in Dundalk and Middle River.
  9. Ahaha, I know about the search button well. Got flamed a little bit when I started working on neons in 2005. Thanks for the warning though.
  10. Hey everyone, couldn't find a "new member" section, so I figured I'd just post up in here. I know I joined back in October, but I guess this is my first "official" hello post. I guess I'll say, I don't own a starquest yet, but I'm sure there is one out there for me. Currently I'm boost-less, yes, I know it's terrible. I do have 2 neons right now, an 05 with 86K miles I put on it, and a 98 with a bunch of work done, that's about to get a high compression motor, and possibly some spray. I also have an 04 Dakota that my wife drives. I'm looking to get a quest to have as a small project/mostly daily car. I have met Cokedoctor at the Chrysler Carlisle show last year, and I'll probably be going to it this year too. So far, the site looks great! Seems like the community is awesome here, and I'll probably be around for a while, even if I don't get a quest.
  11. Hey guys. Just so you all know, no one may have done the SRT swap into a Conquest, but SRT swaps and the older 2.2/2.5 motor swaps have been done into RWD cars. You can use a 2.4 Jeep Liberty transmission, but it is kind of weak. You can also use an older 2.5 Dakota transmission bell housing, on the same year Toyota Supra 5-speed transmission. Another transmission option if you want to go all-out-drag racing is to get a transmission adapter (found on turbododge.com somewhere) to use the older 727 or 904 torqueflight automatic transmission. My buddy is doing a 2.4 out of a stratus (for now, he has an SRT motor he will build and put into it) with built internals into his 1977 MGB. Here is a link This is also something I want to do, but I don't have the space/means for it yet.
  12. Hey man, need to know if you have any extra pics of the damage, and if it will make a ride back to MD, and what mechanical condition it is in. Sent you an e-mail.
  13. Called and left a message, let me know if I had the right number!@
  14. Hey man, just wanted to know if this is driveable. I live in Baltimore, want to know if it would make the trip home. E-mail me please, I'm not a regular on these forums yet. jerryjohnson2004@yahoo.com
