As hard as I tried, I still had some of the panels warp on me from the heat. A really good tip is once you have your tacks down, use them to start your next tack as you alternate positions similar to a head bold torque sequence. Tilt the tip of the Mig towards the previous tack and turn it into the weld as you hear the arc is established. Don't rush this process. It will save you a lot of sanding later.
  2. I hate to see these seats rot away. Any body interested? Items are in SW Oklahoma. Make an offer. http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/87passseat.jpg http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/87passseatback.jpg http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/87driverseat.jpg http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/87driverseatback.jpg
  3. Hmm, that would have been a nice option for my Local store to offer.
  4. I was at my local automotive paint supply store asking about the same thing. Having to stretch the bumper over the foam and support posed some serious flexing challenges. Here is what I learned: Flex agent should be added to the primer coat and applied really thin. Automotive paints have some flexibility in them already. The flex agent was $70.00 for a 24 ounce bottle. Based on the mix ratios that about enough to do 200 bumpers. Anyone want to buy some flex agent? I'll sell it by the 1/4 ounce. (grin).
  5. This is a one off part. I unfortunately didn't have the forsight to make this as a reproduceable part. The sides are at different slopes. Did you know that long strand fiberglass filler shrinks as it cures? It pulled one of the wings down. I didn't notice it until after I had glassed the part. It would be a three piece mold and I'm guessing I'd have to sell at least 30 of these to make it worth my while. I would make some changes to make it easier to mold off of. I doesn't work with the existing side spoilers so I'm welding up the mounting holes. Not many folks are willing to go that extra mile. (not to mention the 5 layers of paint this car has, I'll have to blend all of these in) I could come up with something very similar to compliment the side spoilers, so that could be a future option. Thanks for the thumbs up, all.
  6. Thanks! I still have some other parts to prime and when everything gets ready, I'll get color on all of them. I'll post them, for sure. Oh, a Shout Out to Burton for providing the info on how to do some of this stuff. Thanks, Burton! Another shout to the rest of the members here for providing inspiration as well. We must all be nuts...
  7. This has been a 4 month project. Foam Core and fiberglassed with 3 different kinds of bondo, 3 different types of fiberglass filler. I learned a lot about the best materials to use and when. http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/Rear%20Spoiler/Conquest003.jpg http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/Rear%20Spoiler/Conquest005.jpg http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/Rear%20Spoiler/Conquest006.jpg http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/Rear%20Spoiler/Conquest009.jpg Rear third brake light is molded into the spoiler. http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/Rear%20Spoiler/Conquest004.jpg http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/Rear%20Spoiler/Conquest001.jpg
  8. Sorry man, I'm going to back out. You won't have these much longer.
  9. Mine showed up late because the mailman sent it to the wrong address. Go figure... Wish he could do that with the bills. Ha!
  10. I'll take 'em! PM me your Paypal address and I'll get payment to you.
  11. Centerline wheels have the best price for staggered fitment wheels. You may have trouble matching the backspacing to the stock wheels in front but if you stay within 0.5 inch your wheel bearings won't suffer as much.
  12. I'm not taking it personal. I'm trying to sell something. It's the principal of broadcasting "you want too much." Not cool, not cool at all. If you want to purchase or make an offer, post here. Want to make any more comments? Post them somewhere else, please. Thank you all.
  13. Well, then. At the next national meet, lets have a bonfire and use the old seats as kindling. (I'm laughing at this idea) Someone thought these seats were cool enough to swap out the original seats in my '88. The P.O. must have felt sorry for someone (or lost his mind seeing now they have no real value) and switched them out. I found some fabric 88's which I am recovering to switch them back. Well, I thought I was offering these at a fair price. It would have been more prudent to PM me information regarding the "esteemed" marketability of these parts. Posting "I had to give mine away" would certainly deter anyone from providing at least a counter offer. Also, it's against the rules to post such comments, anyway. If anyone has a need for these seats, I don't want them to "sit" around and collect dust; hollar and let me know. We can work out a seatable (suitable) solution. I'm a punny guy, apologies in advance. As always, I appreciate the help. Thank you and God Bless!
  14. I'm really sorry you had a bad experience. I'm not trying to offend anyone, here. I'm very happy to have this resource and to potentially meet some of you. I've learned a lot. I'm selling seats at a fair price and if it doesn't sell for that, well, that is my concern. Every price is negotiable here. It's a forum, not Wal-Mart. Buyers, make an offer, please. Although comments are appreciated, I feel it would be best to keep it positive and leave the replys for folks who are really interested in buying or offering a fair price. It's easy to tell someone their price is too high, especially when they aren't buyers. Non-buyers, thank you for looking. I would like to keep the negative comments off this thread, please. Thank you all. Have a blessed day!
  15. These seats are in Lawton, OK 73505. $175 plus actual shipping. The seats will not include the mounting brackets. The seats weigh 40 lbs each. I plan to disassemble them to be able to ship the seat backs and bottoms separately. There is a small tear in each seat back. Also, the seam on the driverseat split. It's barely noticeable. I will try to find the most economical way to ship them. Three boxes, two boxes, etc. You can quote shipping at USPS.com. Guesstimate the seat bottoms at 25 lbs and 15 for the seat backs. I can deliver for $50 to OKC, OK or Dallas, TX for $75. If you have any questions or problems uploading the photos let me know. This is the first time I used Photobucket.
