  1. A pleasure to work with - a great buyer.
  2. Thanks for the interest guys - I'll be checking my PM's in a second... in the meantime I was able to find a couple of pictures of my old car (from before I even purchased it) with the spoiler installed. There's only 2 pics, but it's all I've got! To answer a previous question, the outer metal rails go over the sides of the hatch glass. I believe the screws then go through the holes from the inside of the central metal rail (shown with double-tape in the picture), which screw into the little metal clips - the 'brass-looking' parts of which come through a hole on the outside of the metal rail. These screws/clips, when tightened (..and along with the double tape), pulls it all together and straightens the spoiler out. Again, this is what I remember from having removed it years ago. In practice I have very little experience with it- but I DO remember that it was a piece of cake to remove. Hope that helps! http://i40.tinypic.com/2u94qxg.jpg http://i39.tinypic.com/2njysz5.jpg
  3. Hey people - I have for sale an original US Spec rear hatch spoiler that is basically in brand new condition. It was removed from my car - that had 12k original miles on it - about 5 years ago, and the spoiler was purchased/installed shortly after the original owner bought the car brand new. I was only the second owner, so I know this to be the case. The car never spent a single night outside and never saw rain... needless to say it's in fantastic shape. It's the real deal and not a reproduction. It comes with two mounting screws (don't ask me exactly how they go on, but I remember it was VERY easy to remove). I'll try to attach photos that were taken a week or two ago. Based on aftermarket units that I've seen, I'm asking $300 but will entertain offers. The unit is at my home in CT, zip code 06479, and though I'd prefer a local buyer, I will do my best to try to figure out how to ship this thing if need be. Shipping costs will be the responsibility of the purchaser. The spoiler is all original and has never been painted, 'modified' or messed with in any way. The pictures should speak for themselves. You can reply here or PM me with questions, etc. Thanks! http://i39.tinypic.com/dw5k6w.jpg http://i44.tinypic.com/2qb90zt.jpg http://i44.tinypic.com/2vt5vgx.jpg http://i44.tinypic.com/1exsmb.jpg http://i42.tinypic.com/j75ms3.jpg http://i44.tinypic.com/mrwew8.jpg
  4. This car belongs to my father. Lord knows who the original poster is, but we have never shown this car to him/her. Sorry, original poster. (I would know - I'm in charge of where it is at all times). I personally drove it to it's winter storage place two weeks ago and it drove like new. Absolutely gorgeous, fun car to drive. Here are a few pics taken before we washed it and put it away for the season. Sorry - it's a little dirty... http://i39.tinypic.com/2d0l8uw.jpg http://i42.tinypic.com/xoqd8z.jpg http://i41.tinypic.com/dz9pxh.jpg http://i39.tinypic.com/2qw31u8.jpg http://i42.tinypic.com/i5vr7k.jpg
  5. For all who have PM'ed me about additional pictures - these were taken by me last Saturday. Forgive me - car's actually a little dirty. http://i51.tinypic.com/2z6fr6q.jpg http://i52.tinypic.com/jal7rp.jpg http://i55.tinypic.com/eq42rt.jpg http://i53.tinypic.com/29eppxk.jpg http://i55.tinypic.com/fd4wh4.jpg http://i54.tinypic.com/14vrc5s.jpg http://i53.tinypic.com/ng8qvq.jpg
  6. Hi Travis - Sure, I'll give you a call. I took these pictures a few days ago - it's truly a phenomenal Quest. Believe it or not, the car is actually a little dirty in these pictures. We haven't even cleaned it in a long long time (haven't had to!). It stays inside under wraps and doesn't come out all that much. You'd be hard pressed to find a nicer original car.
  7. charcoal cloth on our car.. http://i53.tinypic.com/a2dao7.jpg http://i51.tinypic.com/2v1vwbq.jpg http://i51.tinypic.com/1442r07.jpg http://i56.tinypic.com/dev8z7.jpg
  8. jdl007 - I tried to PM you with the answers to your questions.. .not sure if you got it. Let me know if you received it.. thanks!
  9. Still for sale - thanks for the inquiries. All PM's replied to!
  10. Bump to the top - my father decided that it's time to pass this gem on to someone else. Let me know if there's any interest.
  11. Roadrunner still available? This was the first car that my father ever bought.... brand new. Same colors and everything.
  12. Had a few nice cruises in this beauty this summer. Even took it to work one day and had a dozen people ask me about it. If anyone's interested in this time capsule, just let me know. Still has under 25k miles
  13. No, the car is not sold, nor have we been actively trying to sell it. I had the privilege driving it around this past weekend... the attention this car gets is wonderful For now it stays in a storage unit - if someone was really interested I'm sure we could work something out. Otherwise we'll probably figure out a way to store it more efficiently and keep it.
  14. Thanks, but I have no idea what we would do with a lifted Jeep!
  15. HEY- Still have the car. In fact, it was so nice out last weekend that I took it out of storage and drove it to my place for a little spin.. just to wake her up a bit. It's as close to perfection as you'll find! In total, I put all of 0.4 miles on it I no longer have the 12k-mile car. If you want to see pictures of it, sift through the first couple of pages of the 'showroom' section and you'll find it.
  16. Thanks - it's a custom cover that came with the car (from the original owner). It has a name on it, which skips my mind right now... I'll take a look when I get a chance.
  17. Thanks As you can imagine, it wasn't cheap. Belive it or not, clean, unmolested cars like this are actually worth something. You just don't see them every day. Thanks for the compliments everyone.
  18. Yes, my father is the second owner, and it was purchased from the first female owner who lived in Queens and kept it in a large, heated garage.
  19. Hey guys - My father is contemplating selling his Conquest. It's an '88, Fiji blue with only 24k original miles. The car looks brand new inside and out. Dark grey cloth interior looks brand new and even still smells brand new. Even the 'red' guages are still red, not orange and faded as most - because the car has always been garage kept and covered. Completely original and in showroom condition. The only imperfection is a slight scuff behind the front license plate mounting point (I think he still has the plate-mount which covers it), and a barely-perceptible touch-up on the very nose of the lower air-dam. Everything works as it should and the car fires up and drives like new too. This is a very special car in exceptional condition. I owned one of these with 12k miles in the past (see my thread in the 'Showroom' forum), and this car outshines mine in every department. Here is a link to an old thread if you'd like to see pictures: http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=71687&st=0 My father is getting older now and he's swamped with post-retirement projects (restoring 2 Jag XKE's, gutting 2 condo units, etc.) and he has little time to appreciate this beauty. It stays in storage and is fired up and driven every couple of weeks to keep things fresh. Let me know if you have any interest or have any questions and I'll be happy to answer them for you. He is asking $12,900. My father's not computer savvy, so I thought we'd offer it to you real starquest enthusiasts before it goes up on autotrader in the spring. It's probably the nicest one you'll ever see. Thanks--
