  1. Paid $120 for it and used it for a week.Its the deluxe mbc with 2 adjusters.$50 takes it.

Time for a change.Selling or trading my 81 corolla sportcoupe that I did the 89 quest motor and tranny swap to.Lightened flywheel and stage 2 clutch.Rebuilt motor with new nonjet head,new water pump,balance shafts eliminated,new chains,gears,alternator,small 16g turbo,1G mas,K&N filter,2 1/2 downpipe and exhuast,ovcp with bov,turbo xs boost controller,1 piece driveshaft,new motor and tranny mounts.Lsd rear when it wants to be.New rear springs,front calipers,rotors,brakes.Frame and floors near mint.Body solid needing little work.Autometer gauges etc.Im sure theres stuff i forgot.Under 1000 miles on the drivetrain and I'm guessing around 230 hp.Car is sharp and gets looks all the time.Not many of these around. $4000 or possible trades. http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z246/nutcase4life/Picture009.jpg http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z246/nutcase4life/Picture013.jpg http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z246/nutcase4life/Picture011.jpg

  5. Im lookin to possibly trade my 81 corolla with a built 89 conquest swapped motor and trans for a vw.What more info can you tell about your car?
  6. I just checked it again waiting till the car was completely warmed up.When i checked it it was not at 10 but clser to top dead so i reset it.When i rev up the car it revs nice with no sounds. Its oly when i slowely rev up the car that it gets to a knock sound.Timing mark on the crank is correct because i used a metallic silver pen to higligt the notch,The tester was on the #1 wire. Dont know what else to do.When the advance is unhooked theres no noise when sowely reving so its def in te timing.

I just installed my new vac advance on my car.I timed the engine to 10 before top dead center.Took he car own the road and it ran ok.I noticed though when i had the hood popped and was reving the engine about 1/2 throttle it started spark knockng.Sounded like a friggin diesel truck.When i pulled the vac advance hose off it went away.What am i doing wrong? It has new accel wires,msd blaster 2 coil,new cap,new rotor.Its running a small 16g with non jet head,225 walbro,and fuel pressure at 38-40lbs.The motor has less than 1000 miles on it.

  9. Finally put the yota all back together and its as smooth as butter. Very pleased now.

  11. Had it done today at a shop near me.Guy only charged me 35 bucks. It was way outta balance he said.So thanks all for the advise.

  13. Do i have to have it zero balanced? All the shops around here act like im talking greek when I say I need it balanced.
  14. Came out of nice running 89 quest. $35 Autometer 2 5/8 blower gauge. Same as boost but doesnt show the vacuume. Like new $20

The mounts use the factory corolla mounts that bolt onto the mounts that goto the motor so there not a homemade mount.The corolla rubber mounts are smaller than the quest mounts so some vibes might come from there along with my car being like 1500lbs lighter than a quest.Im thinking on having the flywheel checked but everyone around here wants close to 100 bucks to check and balance it.

Its me again with another post.My motor has bad vibrations period.Its the same at idle as it is reving up.While driving and under boost it does smooth out.I rebuilt the motor myself taking my time to check everything twice and torque everything to spec.Cleaned everything,all new bearings,rings,seals etc.I installed a bse kit.I also installed a non vjet head.I'm racking my brains.First I thought it was the motor mounts that i had made but its not.I checked the crank pully bolt which i took out lock tighted then torque it down. I checked the spark by pulling each wire of wile idleing which every one pulled made a difference.I also changed the plugs,had the head sent out to have the valves all checked and reseated etc.I had the flywheel resurfaced and lightened by a machine shop.The clutch doesnt shimmy or shake so i dont think its the flywheel.I'm outta ideas.The vac addvance i just found is shot but i dont suspect that it would make that big of a change.It doesnt vibrate enough to shake apart but its annoying.Ive ridding in cars with solid mounts that have less vibrations.
  17. Ok i just checked the vac advance by sucking on the line and theres no vac at all.Sucks threw like a straw. Is there a rebuild kit for these.

I've done the quest swap into my 81 toyota.All is runnin pretty good except when im driving along and go to punch it, it pops for a split second and hesitates before taking off.Like it runs outta gas for a second.Could this be the second injector opening up and theres a split pause or is it something else.Im running the 255 walbro pump,1g mas,small 16g turbo.

My inlaw showed up at my house with his lifted toyota with a new 355 chevy small block.Telling me all the stuff he has inside,eagle rods,pistons etc.Oh and how this thing smokes everything and he just blew away a supercharged pontiac.I was lettin it go in 1 ear and out the other till he started smack talking my toyotacorolla with the quest motor that i just finished.Then i got pissed. We went to a back road where i thought we were gonna line up but he punches it first straight away which pissed me off more.I hammered it shifted into 3rd and drove around him like he had a grocery getter and by the end i must have killed him by so many cars lenghts i cant even count.It was rediculous how bad i spanked him.When he showed up finally at the end he looked like a deer in the headlights and came up with the excuse,I just wanted to see what your car would do. Yeah wt.... ever beotch. Made my day.
