    But my tank only has 1/8 tank gone from driving yesterday. So i shouldn't put any additives in? what if i grab some water remover and grab some octane booster say from lucas oil or something that doensn't have any cleaning agents? I will check my maf and clean all of the posts. i mean morning steam and i will check my spark plugs

    i tried putting it in neutrtal also. the tranny was rebuilt but i was told 3rd hand with no paperwork to speak of so it's skeptical. i dont' know. i will post an update when i grab some water remover. Would it be safe to try and start the car with no ovcp to see if the injector even sprays?

    Crisis!!!

    mine is an 88 mitsubishi starion. I don't believe that the coolant temperature is going to matter much. what should i do to check the ignition coil is going out? i do know that the distributer is good still. I think anyways. Would it all of a sudden die like that? it wasrunning fine yesterday and today when i got back from napa. Can i start the car with out any piping (mainly the ovcp) to see if the injector is even spraying? Also, i'm going o buy some water remover stuff for the gas because i just tried this ga station that doesn't ahve any etheonal in it's tanks. The cashier didn't seem to know how old the tanks are and so now i'm skeptical about buying gas from their again. But i don't see why it would affect it now because i drove almost 100 mi yesterday just driving to break it in some and dropped it down 1/8 of a tank. (it's at 250 mi or so on it right now since it's been rebuilt)
  4. oh and do you have a good accordian intake boot? i need one of those on top of the front license plate mount. The reason i want a new cassette player is becuase I wan't to keep my car as tock as possible and get a cassete coverter for me to listen to my mp3 player.
  5. So earlier today, I went out to napa to get some stuff for my dad's work car and my car ran perftectly fine like it has been for the past week. Now when I was about to go to the store to get some stuff, it died as soon as i put it in reverse. Since i've been back from the store, i got it started, but it had the roughest idle imaginable and was borderlining 100 rpm (i was still cranking) and once i gave it some gas, it just idled really miserable for a few seconds. It idled fine until i gave it some gas to see if would rev fine and jsut bogged down and never went past 2k. then i let it sit for a bit, started to move the throttle a bit and then it died. I haven't gotten it started after that. I did notice that the exhaust was a little bit white, but look average when you first start up the car in the morning i suppose. So i thought maybe i t was to lean and had a vacuume leak or somehting. nothing. i haven't checked the fuel yet to see what it looks like. just to keep in mind, the entire engine is rebuilt with a non-jet valve head, and a rebuilt turbo. It was almost acting like one of the spark plugs was unhooked or something. I haven't checked the spark plugs to see what they look like, but everything looked like it was in order. Everything was looked fine. What do you guys think?
  6. I've been trying to find a filter that is high performance and watched a video straight from the manufactures and watched the extensive tests they do on the filter and i want to get one. I was looking up our cars and noticed that ours isn't there. I looked under mitsubishi, chrysler, and dodge. But according to this, the chysler LeBaren has the same size engine (2.6l) which is one of the cars i can choose to get the filter for. So my question is; Is the oil filter the same size in the 2.6l g54b engine regardless of vehicle? Here is the video for the testing- http://www.royalpurple.com/rp-oil-filter.html
  7. could you test them to see if they work please? just hook up some speakers to it and a battery and test them? the license mounts will be added to the list and along with a good radio.
  8. as a result of this, my turbo was bright red in the morning driving 15 mi to work and i was just at cruising speed!
  9. an oxygen sensor for our cars is a must since it has one stock. the computer needs that input to detect if the engine is given too much fuel or not enough fuel so it can have the perfect air/fuel mixture close to 14.7:1 ratio. another problem that totally made my car run awesome is once i changed the oxygen sensor, i did the timing too. if your under 3400 ft in elevation, set your timing to 10 degrees btdc. if above that, set to 15.   10. i had this problem when i took it to a shop to fill the diff and when i got it back, he said it had all sorts of problems. Before i took it to get the fluid filled it was running fine. once i got it back, i couldn't even go past 20 mph! It also died three times trying to pull into the garage and had the roughest idle. once i got home however, i looked under the hood and saw that my oxygen sensor wasn't plugged at all! your oxygen snesor jsut might be bad or not plugged in. check those two things.

  16. i just found an Auto Meter gauge that I'm goingt o buy to put into the stock place. In my opinion, this one would best blend w/ everything. The needle isn't orange but chromish.     So i just got back from a test drive and set the timing again to 15 degrees btdc (because of high elevation) and it made a world of differene. My turbo no longer turns bright red, and the vibration seems to only be between 2.5 and 3k, but once i got passed it, it ran fine. no vibrations after that (besides somewhat out of balance tires lol). FYI- I did get a bse kit done and I had him balance everything including pistons, rods, crank, and flywheel. Any reason why it would still vibrate? should I change out the engine mounts?

    actually, i just found my biggest problem, the oxygen sensor was disconected somehow. now it runs somewhat fine and i can go 50 now. Since i've gone for a testdrive, i just noticed that when it shifts itself to 4th gear, it will hardley accelerate at the rate i want down. the reason i can't get above 50 now is because the tranny won't shift down, even when i have the pedal all the way down to the floor. I also noticed it has a struggle to get to 2k rpm in first gear. once it hits it, its starts accelerating pretty good because of the turbo. I noticed i was leaking some air from the intake and noticed that the intake clamps are suppose to be set at 2-4 ft/lbs. so i started doing that and broke a couple of the old clamps and i will get some more tomorrow. while i'm at napa getting some clamps, i'm going to get some rubber intake tubes for my new intake pipe w/ the bov and also buy a little pipe to make a vacuume hose fitting for relocation the boost hose that is suppose to be on the ovcp. after that, i'm going to go for another test drive after i go to a friends that has a timeing light and set the timeing to 15 degrees btdc instead of 10 btdc (which it is set at right now). Once i'm back from th test drive, i will let you guys know if i notice anything different for better or for worse. (please input before 10:00 a.m. (mountain time) tomorrow if you have any input before i go to napa)

    well, i just recently had it rebuilt and was just vibrating really bad aroudn 3k rmps. but since i dropped it off at the mechanics to have the diff get refilled with oil, it won't even go past 20. the mechanic said it's something fuel related and when i'm driving and trying to get it past 20, my boost says 7 psi /stock, so not accurate\. it feels that it's starting to develop a really bad misfire. it died in my driveway three times and twice at a stop sign coming back from the shop.

    i need to find someone that knows more about these cars than i do that lives relatively close /such as 100 mi\ that can help me with my car and diagnosing my car problems. i live 30 mins from evanston, wyoming.
  22. I do have oil pressure. When I'm going about 55-60 mph, my oil pressure is a little above 3/4 of the way up and when I'm idling, I'm just below the half way mark (running at normal temperatures).
  23. I did get bse kit on it and he is quite knowledgable about these cars. Only one guy did the rebuild and he owns the sh op. He has done 2 g54b engines before mine.
  24. I want to do it right and not lousy.
