  1. ... Up-date .... I have received the my beautiful non-jet head from Dad and have set all the clearances on in-take / exhaust valves. I have the head back on the motor and have torqued all the bolts down to specs. Thank you everyone for all your assistance ... especially Dad (Randy). .
  2. Thanks everyone for your help.... I had Randy (Dad) build me a new non-jet head with 83 parts. YEAH !!!!!!!!!!!,...... I'm back in business. But I still need a little help. I need to set the height on all the valves before installing. Anyone know the correct setting for the 83 valves????
  3. I'd like a copy of the Fuel System pages if your coping and scan. I'll even contribute to the scanning fund. What kind of funds do you need for the scanning process .... cash , spare parts or 6 packs :dancingdog:
  4. Hello ,.... Welcome to the club for starter. I am no expect with the Starion/Conquest car yet, only been a member since last year but I will try to help you out the best i can. Question #1 - The engine youa re asking about is the stardard 4G54 2.6 L I4 with TD05-12A turbocharger = single-camshaft head (SOHC) rather than the dual cam head, using a throttle-body fuel injection setup which mixed the fuel with the air prior (2 injector set-up). Question #2 - Bolt pattern and wheels for the 86 - depending on if the car is running an intercooler or no intercooler. Wheel Size 6-JJx14 (4 bolt 6" wheel) 6.5-JJx15 (4 bolt 6.5" wheel) 6.5-JJx15 (5 bolt 6.5" wheel) Bolt Pattern 4 x 114.3 mm 5 x 114.3 mm Hope this help. (If I am wrong the other quest member will jump in to correct me)
  5. And the fun just keeps coming.... ... Ok ... there is no crying in StarQuest Club !!!! The question now is.... How much of an issue will it be to go to a shorter Valve and a different cam if I still I am running a 83 bottom end and the 83 Fuel injection system. ??? Randy.... All I can say is see what you can do to help me getting the 83 Starion back up and running. Unless someone thinks it would be better to yank the complete engine and drop another in??? :confused0024:
  6. ---------------------- PM sent for 105 amp kit thanks
  7. ----------------------- Thanks for the advice everyone. Well,.. checked over the 83 jet head really well last night ..... and YEP .... she be cracked 3rd cylinder inbetween the valves. (also had local Mechanic check and he confirmed it was cracked, along a nice hole inside) I do have a good (tested and machined) stock non-jet head that came off a running flatty that had 70k miles on it. (purchased from "emagdnim") So,... I should be able to change over the 83 parts to the non-jet head with no issues??? (FYI,... in new water with this stuff.. never done this type of work before) Also, I am guess I will need to get a Jet-Valve Eliminator kit for the install since I am going from a Jet-Head 83 parts to a non-jet head??
  8. Hi Gang... Need a little informaton. I have run around the common loss of Radiator Fluid and milky white oil. I pulled the head and checked it over and can't see any really cracked or damaged in a basic visual, but I am no expert and I am not sure what/where I should looking at for damage. (just looking at the head in general, it actually looks very clean and in very good shape.) Question... Can I change out the 83 jet-head to a newer non-jet head which out getting into any issues?? (got a feeling a will...but not sure) thanks
  9. If the car has not crossed the scales i could use a few things... Will PM you what i am looking for. Thanks
  10. Great member to work with if you have a Flatty. Very knowledge and will to help out when question are asked. Purchased a Turboxs - Boost Controller for a GREAT price from him. Came fast and even in prefect shape. Couldn't even tell it was used.
  11. Scotty had a sweet deal on a 14B turbo in a 12A housing. Just the right size turbo for a little extra boost without having to worry about the engine being stressed. And with the 12A housing no modifaction needed to the manifold. Turbo came clean and in great shape.!! Good pack job and fast delivery.
  12. Purchased a HARD TO FIND 83 Throttle Body & injector set up for my Flatty when it wasn't running properly. Good price / Fast shipping. GREAT GUY TO WORK !!!! Willing to go that extra mile to help a fellow member out.
  13. Still very interest can send money today by 2pm on Paypal ...... Guaranteed SALE !!!!!!!!!
  14. Cost of BOV is $45 ,.... (shipping in not included....sorry) Shipping shouldn't be more then $7. (guessing) I will send out the BOV by US postal and use actual costs for shipping to persons zip code. I think that is far.... shipping cost from zip codes to zip code (my zip 24019)
  15. Sorry about the wait on the pictures .... I can't get it to down load properly. But while taking the photos I did notice writing on the top of the BOV. It is marked "Blow off Valve Type RS" - and look very similar to a GReddy Type RS. Plus top screw is marked with arrows "Hard and Soft" for pressure. I am guess it is a JDM copy. I will try again tonight to place a photo on line. It not PM me with E-mail and I will send photos out. Sorry again for the delay everyone.
  16. Hi Gang,.... Just recently helped a friend out with some transmission work and he gave me 2 new Blow Off Valves he had for payment. Well, I don't have an inter-cooler on my 1983 Starion, so I don't need them. They look like a base adjustable BOV. (Stamped Type RS) New in the box with hose, flange, gasket and plastic "T"s. No company logos. He told me it could handle up to 25 psi. I had one of my local Import Tech look at them and he said they were in great shape and were worth around $60 each. I would rather have the cash to put back into the Starion project, then hold on to them until get to the point of doing a $300+ install project of an inter-cooler. So if any one wants one,.... PM me. Ask price $45 (each) + shipping (actually cost will be zip to zip by US postal)
