  1. Might be a dumb question but I just found a guage cluster on E-bay and I need one. The guy says it's out of an 84....it looks like a newer one (87-89), but I can't be 100%. Assuming he is right, will it fit? I can't beat the price, 99 cents and it's ending in a few hours. Thanks
  2. He still owes me a pair of hood struts that I paid for in May. I got a hold of him in July about it (I was overseas, so I had to wait until then) and he said two weeks, that was about 2.5 weeks ago.....I'll give him another week before I call and tear him a new one, which is what I did after several e-mails and a phone call with no response. He actually called me back after I left the nasty message. Thanks for reminding me about it....one more thing I have to take care of now!
  3. Yeah, that would suck. I'm standing by.
  4. 1988 Automatic Durban Roller with 80K Airdam has no cracks-completely in tact with new stainless steel mounting brackets Great tread on tires Interior is black and maroon 8/10 No rust 87 seats 9/10 (the upper right back is a bit seperated on the driver seat) A few small tears in the seat bolster Carpet is in excellant cond Dash is perfect APEXI SAFC Paint overall is pretty dang good for it being 22 yrs old. It could use a good rubbing out. It faded in spots from sitting out for 2 years. Lowering springs Tranny is in it New exhaust 2.5 or 3 inch, can't remember. Has about 100 miles on it Rear bumper cover is a little wavey on the right pass side from the sun (see pic) Rear spoiler has a large chipped area (see pic) Half of a golf ball sized dent in the pass side ground effects (see pic) Front bumber cover has a crack in it (see pic) If your not seriously interested in it, please don't inquire. Please spare me the "Gonna have to wait a few months for the money" spiels, if you don't have it, wait until you do, then inquire. Asking 1000 for it. If it doesn't sell, I might consider giving it to someone who is willing to drive to my location and help me put my other car back together and get it running 100% right. Things I need to do to the other car: Drop and clean the gas tank. Wire all my gages in hook up my FIP fuel only stand alone Drop the rebuilt motor and tranny in Ensure the wiring on the car is good to go (it is, just want to go through it with a pro like one of you) Hooking up the indiglo dash kit I have for it Put in the Mookeh bushing kit A few other small items her and there. This is childs play for about 90% of you and you could probably do it in a weekend, or two maybe. I have all the parts except a turbo and a gage cluster.....they went missing somewhere between the car sitting for 2 years and getting up to my home outside of Fayetteville NC. I know this is probably a stretch so it's plan "Z" I'll probably end up parting that car too, but please don't ask about that one yet. Photo bucket: http://s509.photobucket.com/home/Pfortck/index Durban Roller is the album. There are other pics of the car in other albums too, if you decide to poke around. If you want to get in touch with me e-mail me at pfortck@yahoo.com rather then PM'ing me. I'll get you you much quicker. Thanks
  5. Nobody wants it eh? I've had a few part out questions but sorry, I either want it all gone as of right now or nothing. I don't want to sell off the really good stuff, be left with the car and a few easy to get things and then have to start all over if I ever drag myself out of this hole I'm in. I will sell the Durban alone, but all the nice after market stuff stays with the black one. It was going to be "My" dream Quest (on a budget that is) Somebody make me a realistic offer.
  6. I have a newly rebuilt motor, tranny and two cars for sale. I have hit a rough patch and well, I just need to sell it. Email for pics but here is the breakdown: Hyper U pistons 40 over Scream'in banshee cam Mildly ported intake and exhaust New stress relieved exhaust Powder coated throttle body Powder coated valve cover 110 Amp alternator (never used) Freshly rebuilt 5 speed never installed in the car, paid 600 for the work. 89 110K Solid roller, primer black, perfect, straight, no rust interior is perfect. Manual seatbelts 83 hood new in the box hood heat shield has good rims and tires but also have SHP 9's without tires, moderately polished, freshly painted inlays. One rim has a pretty good gash in the face, but nice enough to put on the car Reupholstered seats in black vinyl and grey cloth, matches interior of the car that has been highlighted in gray, it's sharp! Mookeh sway bars, front installed this weekend, back not installed yet. Braided brake lines front installed (back not installed yet and all engine lines also. Car was originally red, engine bay painted black. Car will need to be painted to make perfect, but all the body work is done. The car is ready to be put back together and rather then part it out, I'd like to sell as one piece. The one and only thing you will need is an instrument cluster. Oh, my turbo came up missing, so you'll need one of those too. Mookeh Indiglo dash kit FIP stand alone fuel only Mookeh bushing kit, not installed Also have a LC-1 wideband A MAFT can't think of the name, but it's the one that has the 3 adjustments to it that plugs into the MAS I'm sure I'm missing a lot of stuff, but this is the perfect car to buy and add whatever you might want to to it, while it's still apart. This isn't a car that's trashed from sitting out, it's perfectly clean inside, drop the motor and tranny in, add a turbo and a instrument cluster and go. I also have a 88 Durban roller with 80K on it, body is 98%, auto tranny. Good tires and rims but it's not perfect but an easy fix. This car has an Apexi SAFC in it. I have an extra black hood too, perfect, needs to be painted but no dents, primer black. Both cars have lowering springs all around. Hard pipes, modded ntercooler Griffin aluminum radiator No sob story here but there is one, I need it gone but won't give it away and rather then part it all out, I'd just like the cash up front. I can send you pics but don't waste my time if you aren't seriously interested. I need 4K for all above way less thyan what I have in it. I'll also give you every piece of Starquest stuff I have like a new air diversion panel, 3 guage with radio den panel, rear lowering springs (extra ones)and rear coil overs, also extra ones. Guages, water, oil, airflow, boost, monster tach. You are welcome to come look at it, I live just outside Fayetteville NC....you will not be disappointed
  7. Yes, I retired from the Marines after 21 yrs. I smile at your youthful ignorance (no offense) but doing 4 years in the Marines won't land you a lot of contracting prospects in most cases unless you were a IT guy or something really wiz-bang and that would be pushing it. The world if overflowing with contractors now and you have to have some experience to make you valuable ie: An IT guy that retired, or say did it for 10 years, or a SOF (Special Operations Forces) guy with the same kind of time. It's not glorious but man it can be fun at times but it's also dog eat dog. PM me if you want more advice on the Marines, I'll give it to you straight.
  8. I was standing in line at an airport store and a lady overheard me answer the worker that I was a contractor in Afghanistan with everyones favorite to hate contracting company (hence my appearance) the lady behind me said "Oh your a mercenary then" in which I replied "Yes, and your a fat douchebag"........it made my day. I'm in it for the money, not to help the Afghans, they are beyond help and I say that with 2 yrs under my belt over there Like it or not, contracotrs over there are filling some big holes that our active duty guys can't plug themselves whether it's teaching tactics hence freeing them up for other things or in some instances fighting side by side with them. People can hate me all they want, but to "Boo" an active duty Soldier/Sailor/Airman/Marine is about as low as you can get. It's surprising too, if my assumption that the incident took place in Ga is accurate. Ga is full of Army bases and for the most part, I thought the military was pretty well respected there.
  9. A quick update: I got a call back today and he will be sending my struts to me after I left a "Firm yet fair" message. So, I'll keep you guys posted. I just don't want to slam a guy for a casual mistake, he seemed legit and I would really rather give people the benefit of the doubt until given reason not to even though it have totally hosed me in the past. Maybe that I've had such terrible luck when it comes to eveything with this car I'm just happy something seems to be going in my favor for once, even though it stemmed from drama in the first place.
  10. That's what I was afraid of. If four experts agree not to run it, I'll leave it in the box. Thanks for the input fellas.
  11. I bought a flywheel from e-bay that weighs 10lbs from a guy called Speedpartsforless. Is this too light? Will this cause more problems down the road? Maybe this is a stupid question but I have seen guys on here talking about 15 lbs being the lightest you can get one. Should I stick this 10 pounder in my car? I'm getting ready to drop the new motor and tranny in this weekend and would hate to see all my money and hardwork get messed up due to a stupid mistake on my part after I have been gathering parts and making things as perfect as I can make them for almost 3 years.
  12. A quick breakdown: I ordered and paid for a set of hood struts several months ago while I was in Afghanistan. I got home a few weeks ago and learned that they never arrived. The PayPal payment has been processed, I have the verification. I e-mailed them and let it sit a few days with no reply. I called and left a message, nobody has called back. Has this happened to anyone else? I really don't have patience for this kinda crap, I paid for a service and I expect it to be resolved, becuse it never should have happened in the forst place with a company that has their duckies in line enough to have their own website and offers service. If it was a regular guy on here and that happened, I might be a little more understanding, as selling parts for these cars for most on here is a side hobby/job. Anyone have any suggestions? All I want are the hood struts or my money back and the issue will be dead.
  13. I was on Lindsey for about 10 months before I quit the company I was working for and took another contract more in line with my specialties. When I was there we used to call it the best kept secret in A-Stan,(until the 82d showed up and started destroying the place) away from the flag pole yet close enough to get whatever you needed at the PX on KAF. Who are you working for? I'm near Kabul now living on a piece of crude FOB, working twice the hours I was but making about 30K more then I was, so it's worth it....I guess. My contract is up in Sept, probably gonna bail shorty after that.
  14. I need a 88/89 black steering wheel in very good to excellant condition
  15. That guy needs to be dragged out in the street and beaten.
  16. Been looking for a long time for these items. Missed the GP on the shifters. If you have them, please let me know.
  17. It's out of an 88. I've only changed the fluid in it and that's all. Never had any issues with it though.
  18. What do you need for the steering wheel? Hows 55 shipped sound? Shipping to 28539 Standing by to PayPal you. Right now I'm going to bed, it's late in Afghanistan, so I'll pay you late night your time today if the price is fair. Let me know. Thanks

  20. Okay, maybe I'm not as dumb as I thought I was. I guess what I'm trying to ask is, would this be a great piece of gear to have, or not so much?
