  3. UPDATE!! JULY 2, 2011 LOOK WHAT I PICKED UP YESTERDAY IN SOUTH CAROLINA. 1988 DURBAN AUTOMATIC, SAME COLOR (NEW PAINT), NO ROOF, BUT ONLY 102K ON THE CLOCK. VERY CLEAN, VERY NICE. "NEEDS" A GOOD TUNE UP, BUT THATS ABOUT IT. YEAH!!! sEE LINK TO CHECK OUT SOME OTHER PICS: http://s680.photobucket.com/albums/vv168/Vnomous1/1988%20Conquest%20TSi%20Durban%20Maroon%20Replacement/ http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv168/Vnomous1/1988%20Conquest%20TSi%20Durban%20Maroon%20Replacement/KGrHqQOKkE3v6Mu14BOBh5pkTkg_12.jpg Gang, Last saturday I was just rolling along about 50 to 55 MPH, an IDIOT approaching from the opposite direction decided to make a left hand turn out of the blue..no turn signal, no nothing...and that's just what I could do...nothing, except slam on the brakes, and 1 1/2 year of effort straight down the tubes!! I am glad to be alive, wearing my trusty seat belt saved me from further injury. My chest is still black and blue, my neck and back are tweaked to say the least. I might try to save her, alot of new parts, but my inner self is telling me it's a wrap...she's done. I won't know for sure until I get her torn apart, but that sure is what it looks like. Although the first pic doesn't show it, I recently had the hood, roof and rear spoiler painted and she was looking real good. Now look at her, what a waste. I had the insurance company have her brought "home", so she is in the garage waiting for the adjustor to come this Monday. The company that towed her seemed pissed off when I said I was keeping her. The tow dude said "It's totaled, just leave it here". I wanted to punch his face! I bet he was already thinking of selling off the parts! Scum bag! http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv168/Vnomous1/1988%20Durban%20conquest/P1020150.jpg http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv168/Vnomous1/1988%20Durban%20conquest/P1020683.jpg http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv168/Vnomous1/1988%20Durban%20conquest/P1020682.jpg http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv168/Vnomous1/1988%20Durban%20conquest/P1020680.jpg
  4. Is it me or has there been a sudden rush of 6x, xxx mile conquests? I mean really, where the hell have they been? Not to mention 98% of them look like they have been to hell and back and should say 16x,xxx. The scrubs that are trying to sell them should be flogged. Just my thought, what do you think?
  5. BC, you might have to flip for the new one's bro. Most break when removed anyway because they are so old. Best to just purchase new stuff. BTW, I like the color on the rims. GL.
  6. Will this work with the stock electric fans AND A/C compressor?
  7. Great guy to deal with, I recommend him to all.
  8. I need a good driver's side black pillar cover. If you have one please, please respod with price and shipping to 28311. Using Pay Pal, thanks.
  9. I believe the angle "may" be right, but the problem I ran into was the holes did not line up on either of my manual's or automatic transmissions. The transmission support bracket holes were ok, but not the two holes for the studs on the transmission. I had to drill the holes out so the mount would slide on.
  10. QC, I will take which ever one he does not need. Since the request is only for one, I will take the other. pretty sure I got your pay pal addy, but send again with price with shipping to 28311. Thanks. OPPS! my bad, I know see that you have a left and right and I also need the R/H lower portion. If it does not sell, I will take it.

    MAS

Thanks for th reply Indy. The plugs are the same, but on the AFS itself there are two wires. On one, the wires are near the honey comb (bottom), soldered in to some sort of resistor and on the other one, the two wires are soldered into some sort of reisitor, but about half way up and between those two open tube/portions. I believe it may be bad becuase of the crappy idle...otherwise the engine performs very well. No vacuum leaks I can find and everything seems tight. You know me...stock configuration.

    MAS

Gang, Wondering if someone can explain the differences in the MAS. I have two types...all of my SQ's are intercooled 87-89. However, I believe I have a bad one on one of my 87's, I have two types but the wiring is different. On one the wiring attaches at the bottom, near the honeycomb. The other attaches near the middle. Which one is right for the 87-89 intercooled turbo cars? thanks.
  13. Definately repairable. Looks like a trip to Raleigh is due!
  14. Looks like you just found your winter project Kevin! Complete stock car, parts and knowledge...and the paint shines up real nice! Save it, and sell it!
  15. Your choice...Brian is closer, or trilogy turbos are good sources for injectors and clips.
  16. Are those the original injectors and clips? Aw man, say it ain't so...you KNOW what you gotta do! I would not even try to save them...get some NEW stuff Rob!
  17. Rob, Patience... before you pull the distributor, make sure the rotor is pointing to the no.1 plug and your timing mark is at 10 BTDC. Use a socket and ratchet and turn in the engine normal direction of rotation until the timing mark lines up. Remove distro, disassemble, clean/lubricate, reassemble with new parts and re-install. I strongly recommend a new vacuum advance if you have never replaced it. Start, let warm to operating temp, set timing back to 10 BTDC, done.
