  2. ive got two questions but i dont want to hog up the VM section. haha the piece of rubber hose at the top of my gas tank filler neck is leaking. is that piece anything special? whats the common replacement? and ive got a Greddy turbo timer. whoever tried to wire this thing in last was retarded, and it turns on and off with my blinkers. lol anyone got a good wiring diagram, or instruction?
  3. so me passenger headlight motor froze in the down position the other night, and i turned the knob to manually lift the light and now the knob spins freely (and continually) without lifting the light when the headlight switch is pressed. do i just need a new motor to replace this guy?

  14. Tim C's Monsta Banshee Cam. Never used. $200 Shipped Specs: Hydraulic Roller for use with roller rockers only: "The Monsta’Banshee: INT Duration @.050: .207° Seat-To-Seat: 265° EXH Duration @.050: .196° Seat-To-Seat: 262° INT Lift: .480 w/1.6 ratio rockers; .450 w/1.5 ratio. EXH Lift: .459 Lobe Center Separation: 111.5° Degree intake Lobe to 107° Power Range: 2500-6500RPM Hands down, it is the best all around performance cam. Its lag reducing roller profile is better than a slip rocker cam lobe can give. This is a true roller lobe cam that comes on hard, and runs hard throughout its range, & well into top end. It idles fine, and revs to 6500RPM. What more do you want?!! It will not upset the stock ECU computer calculation method. Other roller grinds will. However, don’t expect any cam to be a cure all for other issues your engine has. Bigger performance cams require proper tuning, or they can run worse than the stock cam. Set-up requirements: 1. Mitsu roller rocker part #MD195450, or the Melling #MR925. Qty =8. INT & EXH is the same. These are used on mid to late ‘80’s model Caravans with the 3.0L V6 engine, some Mitsu 3000GT’s too, among other models. Make sure you get the roller rockers, because some models did not have rollers. Mitsu Wholesale 800-229-1001 has them for $16.80 ea., last we looked. 2. Jet valve elimination kit. You can leave the Jet Valves in, but the rockers do not have the JV arm. 3. Preload: a) Use the supplied shims to give sufficient pre-load to the lifters. Instructions will be supplied too. It is very simple. You may actually not need them, but most will. The shims are a better way than lash caps, to get the proper lifter preload. They are safe, and will not come out like lash caps. They also make the install much cheaper. cool.gif If you are prepping a head off the car, it is best to use the 1983 Starion model year valves. These are longer, and were originally used with the mechanical valvetrain, so you will need the mechanical retainers, and keepers. This will pre-load the lifters just fine with no shims. Make sure the exhaust valve is the turbo valve. Turbo valves are stock Stellite, marked with an “S†on the spec sheet in most books, & on the valve face itself. Marnal currently carries a valve set with Stainless Exhaust Valves. These will work fine, and preferred over stock stellite. Stock naturally aspirated engine exhaust valves will burn up. Don’t buy the cheap $35 valve set from Marnal. The INT will work, but not the EXH. Get the one’s that have the stainless EXH valve. $60 or so I think? With the ’83 length valves, you can use the 3.0L roller rockers (1.6 ratio). With 4’-84 to ’89 style valves, The 2.0L roller rockers(MD106245 1.5 ratio) will be safer to use, since some head combinations will set the retainers closer to hitting the stem seal than others. I do have the shorter valves working fine on my car with the 1.6 ratio rockers. My stock head has a little deeper cut seats from 2 valve jobs, and we made sure the spring tension was 90+ Lbs at the seat. Overview: It is safer to use the MD106245, 1.5 ratio rockers from the 2.0L SOHC engine, if you are using the more popular 4 of ’84 through ’89 year valves. Those valves are shorter than the ’83 ones, and have a round retainer groove as opposed to a square retainer groove on the ’83 valves. The supplied shims are required on the later year valves. Not required on the ’83 year valves. Required Upgrades: HD Springs. Any spring with installed height rating of 90 Lbs. is fine, with a maximum of 100Lbs. You must check the seat installed spring pressure! It is always best to use the minimum amount of pressure that gets the job done right. The Schneider HD’s # 6610 are known good ones, and cheap enough. Highly Recommended Upgrades: A good fuel system increase over stock. Use at least the Master E-2315 pump, & BCFPR. The wider adjustable rising rate regulator is better, but it really needs an upgrade pump & FPR, with a bigger turbo, and 2.5-3†exhaust, new valve stem seals (if changing springs), a new cam roll pin, Mitsu part# MD021219 (Pin, Spring [6 x 19]). Other Checks: If you are running the stock valves, post 4-’84 to ’89, then the stem seal clearance is closer. You must check the clearance to make sure the retainer does not hit the seal. There are basic checks that need made with any performance cam upgrade. I have done my best to help with the ones that people tend to forget, or not know about. If you have never swapped a cam before, you may need to hire a pro to do it for you. There is no such thing as plug and play that works for everyone. Different obstacles can occur on different set-ups due to little things that make a big difference. Other benefits over stock and any slip rocker cam: Less parasitic drag for more power, smoother operation, better cooling, and the ability to create a bigger lobe profile than any comparable slip rocker lobe, for better performance."
