Got above all done, nice and clean now. Really didn't see any corrosion challenge. My mechanic might have found the challenge. Seems we get proper voltage when ignition switch is turned to "accessory" and the "on" position but moving it to "start" we only get proper voltage 7 out of 10 times. Going to have the ignition changed out which has not been done before. I hope this makes sense. This is an area I am really just learning. Will advise if this solves the challenge.

Need the upper part of the door panels off your '88. would you take $10 each plus shipping? Is dash in good shape? I am ignorant on what to ask you for if it is. Can you shoot me an idea? Need the flywheel cover - $10 bucks?

My mechanic found wire from ignition to ignitor box not carrying current correctly. Change out but problem came back as soon as I drove down the street and turned ignition off. Not seeing any obvious damage or burnt areas of the wiring harness connections to indicate a short. Still trouble-shooting for now.

Yes, you are correct about it being against the kick panel. Replacement is the smaller one. Also, I am not really in your back yard anymore. Just recently took on new employment in Brownsville, Texas and took car down there. It is definitely a novelty here.

Having a challenge with the ECM or ECI (not sure what the proper name is). This is the little ignition control box way up under dash behind the blower motor on the passenger side. I have blown out two within 1 year and getting ready to have a third one installed. Something is causing this module to blow. Anyone have any ideas? Is bypassing it with a couple of toggle switches a good idea? Have a 1988 Conquest, manual, minor mods.
