  1. Update. non shp 8's on front, shp 9's with 30mm spacer on back. 205/55 F 225/50 R. Wish I'd have gone smaller on the front. Oh wells. http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m316/QuickShotxMLx/Conquest%20Stuff/Picture003.jpg http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m316/QuickShotxMLx/Conquest%20Stuff/Picture004.jpg http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m316/QuickShotxMLx/Conquest%20Stuff/Picture010.jpg http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m316/QuickShotxMLx/Conquest%20Stuff/Picture012.jpg
  2. So I discovered my timing was way way off. So I adjusted it. The FSM says 10* btdc +/- 2* Well with my distributor turned clockwise as far as it can go I can get the car to ~12* btdc. You guys think it might be a tooth off being correctly set? Any advice on how to approach this issue?
  3. To update this... I set the timing on my car and it idles steady now. Timing was wayyyyyyyyyy off making it run like boo boo.
  4. I put an old HKS bov on my car and I have some questions about how to hook it up. It has two ports like this: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m316/QuickShotxMLx/Conquest%20Stuff/Picture001.jpg And I have it hooked up like this: http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m316/QuickShotxMLx/Conquest%20Stuff/Picture002.jpg Both ports T'd together and run to the rightmost plug on the throttlebody. It works fine at 7psi, but anything above that it leaks. If I just run it with the lower port connected and the top plugged it holds whatever I throw at it but leaks at idle. How should I have this rig hooked up? Thanks.
  5. Edited for coherence. Thanks for clearing that up. Yeah I'm glad that it only ran consistently enough for me to put about 150 miles on it since I bought it in october.
  6. Bought a timing light today from Harbor Freight. Wow, my car was way off. I had been wondering why it was still running like boo boo even after I replaced just about everything you can with the fervor of one who acts as if money isn't cool to have. Hooked up the timing light to the car and I thought it was broken because I couldn't find the timing mark on the crank pulley. Then I looked to the left while it was running... WAY to the left. Car had to be 25-30* off at idle. Sheesh. Man it runs good now with the timing at 10* where its supposed to be. It really sounds like an old farm tractor now lol. If there are any out there who haven't done this yet I'd definitely suggest it.
  7. Because I cannot get this thing to reattach to the distributor. There doesnt seem to be enough room to get the rod to reattach to the distributor. This is driving me crazy and it has to be simple.
  8. A boosted inline six will make a conquest sound like a symphony on wheels. 1j, 2j, RB2x. Doesn't matter. Can't beat the sound, sweet music to my ears. If I had an RB in my rig I'd be soooo happy. Champagne would fall from the heavens, doors would open for me, I wouldn't have to pay taxes...
  9. how'd he manage to pull the wheels with a 2.2 60 foot? I'd imagine he'd be in the 1.6 or so range to make that happen.
  10. Its doing good. I bought a set of injectors for it and it kept doing the same thing. So I took my old injector and whacked it with a screw driver a few times and sprayed it with some brake cleaner and its been working fine ever since. Just trying to iron out driveability stuff now.
  11. I cranked the car up today after fixing my eci fuse spooge problems and I realized I had forgotten to plug my maf back in. The car usually has a slight stumble to the idle, but with the maf unhooked it was idling smooth as glass. Its a stock maf that I've cleaned before. Could it possibly be on the way out? Any way to check? Thanks.
  12. cleaned all the connectors under the fuseable links and it starts right up now. thanks guys.
  13. Stock compression is 9.5:1, I wouldn't run over 9:1 man.
  14. My car for the last few months has a problem where it will stop making spark and therefore not start. This originally occurred when the old 87 plastic ignitor went out. I bought an 89 metal ignitor and wired it in and the car started right up and ran fine for about 2 weeks. Now intermittently the car will still not make spark. I'd really like to get this sorted out as it's driving me nuts. I'd like to work from the battery to the coil to ensure that all my wiring is good but i'm not certain what to check in between. Are there any relays, fuses, problem wires, etc that I should check? Any guidance/info you guys could shoot my way would be greatly appreciated.
  15. 138k stock motor, SSAC/X02/egay bottom mount manifold, GTi-R t28, 8lbs, SR 370cc injectors, 3" exhaust, White bunny clutch, pre tuned ecu. If you aren't going full standalone and you have some tuning experience nistune/calum is the only way to go for the price. DOHC KA's are the bees knees man. I'm really excited for your project lol.
  16. Like 1.5 coils. I did it a little at a time. I wanted to get it as low as I could without it bottoming it out. It still rides stock. But I hear ya on the tire size. I'd like to run a 205/55 up front, and something slightly bigger in the back. Have to go see how much a 215/45 cost since it doesn't sound like a popular size.
  17. Just got injectors from him. Fast shipping, good communication. A+
  18. ka-t ftw!! I had a 93 coupe 240 with a bottom mount gti-r t28 on 8lbs and it would effin murder my conquest lol. Forged rods/pistons and you'll be set. For the ECU i'd def go with a nistune board, its cheap as heck and you get most of the tuning of a full standalone. You'll find EVERYTHING you'll ever need to know about ka-t stuff at ka-t.org http://s107.photobucket.com/albums/m316/QuickShotxMLx/?action=view&current=SMOV0047.flv I miss mine so much.
  19. It was the secondary injector. I'm running a 1g talon bov and it seems to be doing okay I guess. It only really makes any noise if the car goes above 10psi. Anywho, the injector started randomly working again yesterday, then stopped again after I replaced my injector clips this afternoon. I took it off, sprayed it with brake cleaner, and whacked it with a screw driver a few times and it started working again. I know how incredibly ghetto/hack that sounds, but it really did start working again after that lol. But my new set of injectors should be here tomorrow or Tuesday so i'm driving the truck til then for good measure. Thanks for all the help guys.
  20. Lol. You did it wrong. I did the same thing. Connect it to the other side of the wire that you capped. You'll win.
  21. c5 z06. Wait you got a baby... 03-04 cobra. Don't get an evo. You'll never have sex with 9 girls at the same time with an evo.
  22. Thats how winners do it.
