  1. Just the sensor?? or a complete wideband setup. Will that help pinpoint the problem? I would only want to advance it a couple of degrees, right?
  2. Is there a thread on here for wiring one up?Or are they pretty much self expalainatory.
  3. What type of mas set up would you recommend?? And I do agree with the mbc. Will get one ASAP.
  4. StarquestRescue, yes I am running 19-20 lbs of boost and thats with the mbc turned all the way down! Shelby,I am running a mechanical boost gauge. And thanx, its good to know the dizzy is ok. I've read quite a few posts on sparkplugs possibly causing this to happen and everybody seems to be running the NGK7031. I am running E3s and when I removed one it was slightly black indicating a rich concern. Could a dirty MAF cause this? I.would say its not a fuel concern and the ignition system seems to be in good condition.
  5. Ok, I tested the vac advance tonight with engine running, timing light, and a mighty vac.Engine timing adjusted smoothly and returned smoothly. Also did it with engine off and did a visual check on the mechanical portion in distributor. Looks good. The governor weights were sticking slightly and appear to be slightly worn. The springs are also questionable. One of the springs almost seems to long when the weight is rotated in. It dosent seem to be holding it in position. So I removed the weights, cleaned and relubed them so now they atleast spring back towards center. Should the weights be held in towards the governor plate with slight tension or is it normal for the spring to have play in it? Did take it for a ride after cleaning the weights and it did not help problem. If parts are worn of course it wont help. Where is the best place to get these replacement parts?
  6. Thanks for the info. I will try the vac test and and let you know the results. As far as the ignition goes, could it be related to the knock box? I do have a pertronix after market coil mounted on it and E3 spark plugs. What do you mean about MAF over run problems? I realize its the mass air flow sensor but not sure what you mean by over run.
  7. Yes, it is only one big stumble.Whats the best way to test the vac advance? Are you refering to the distributor as the "dizzy"? If it did it with the stock turbo how could it be too much boost?
  8. 87 Quest,14g,mbc,89 ECM,steel headgasket,21/2" exhaust,A/F guage, manual boost gauge,HKS SQV, NGK wires and plugs. My issue is this bad stumble or buck under moderate to hard boost. If I feather the throttle to build RPMs and boost, I can usually avoid the big stumble. Sometimes when this happens it will blow the vacuum lines right off the manifold.Found some other posts that were similar, but mostly pertained to ignition. I also went from a E-bay knockoff BOV to the HKS thinking that might be the issue and it didnt change anything. Also disconnected the mbc. That helped, but I am only putting out about 8lbs of boost. With controller hooked up its 19-20 lbs of boost with controller turned all the way down. Now, before I put the 14g on(this winter)I was running the stock 12a and still had this same problem with the one huge stumble under hard boost. I wouldnt think it would be a fuel problem even know it did it with the stock turbo. At this point I am still running the stock pump and injectors. Any ideas?? Fullbore
  9. YIKESSS!!!! sometimes I just want to shoot myself in the head!!! THANKS guys I can always count on you. Fullbore
  10. I'm pretty sure this isnt the right place to post...sorry guys. How do I find out what month my car was manufactured? I know the year obviously, but I need to know the month also. The VIN code dosent have that info as well as any of the other code plates on the vehicle. I need to know this so I can order the correct clutch from Grip-force Clutches. I recently ordered one and the pressure plate was 11.5 inches in diameter and my factory clutch is 11 inches in diameter. Is this info available anywhere on the car? Fullbore

  15. In need of the rubber gasket that goes around the sunroof glass. I've had a heck of a time trying to find one. fullbore
  16. I would like to keep the stock fuel system,Traps. I guess i'm getting alittle overwhelmed with all this info and having a hard time decideing which way to go. All I know is I want to go alittle bit bigger on the turbo, upgrade the fuel system and have fun with the car. I didnt realize there were so many options when decideing on a turbo. It would be helpful(for lackys like me)if there was specific turbo, pump, injector packages that work best for mildly/heavly modified engines. Something that was tested and known to work well. Kind of like small block chevy intake, cam, and carb packages from Summit Racing. Takes alot of the headache out of it and points you in the direction you want to go.
  17. Traps, I know what you are saying. I have taken the stock set up as far as it can go? Unfortunitly my town is full of 5.0 Mustangs and those horses need to be broken. I am also interested in getting into autocross and eventually will start work on the suspension set up. If I need to go with a bigger pump and or injectors then thats what I gotta do. Thats why I was wondering if the TDO5-16G from the EVO would work. I can pick it up very reasonably. The turbo is from an EVO3 so I assume it will work? If not I will look for the proper upgrade parts. I am fairly new to the turbo rebuild thing so will contine to pound you guys with questions so I know it will be done right.
  18. Wow! Thanks again guys. I will get this figured out yet. And yes it is mildly modded at this point. I just talked to a guy who has a TD05-16G from an EVO. Would that work ok?
  19. Would this work with only mods done to the compressor housing? Would the TD05H fit the stock turbine housing without mods? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Mitsubishi-TD05H-turbine-16G-compressor-wheels-/180995310364?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a2429431c&vxp=mtr
  20. Is this the compressor wheel I would need IF it was a flatback? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mitsubishi-TD05-TD05H-TD06-EVO3-16G-Compressor-Wheel-48-30-68-00mm-/121006145928?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c2c874188&vxp=mtr
  21. From what i've seen and read so far, the stock TD05-12A has a flat back. Has anybody seen the superback in the stock turbocharger? I have a factory service manual and i'll have to admit the illustration for the exploded view of the turbo kind of sucks. It dosent show the best detail.
  22. Thanks guys for the info. Can my local machine shop do this type of work? I assume I will need the parts first before I have the work done so they can measure diameters and such to fit the wheels. I would also use the stock TDO5-12A rebiuld kit, correct?
