When I was 18 a really good friend of mine died in a train vs. automobile accident at just past midnight on a Saturday. The Saturday before at about the same time, I was with him as we crossed some railroad tracks with no signals or those arms that come down, just as we passed the tracks, the train whizzed by, a couple seconds sooner and we would have been hit. Coincidence? Kind of hard to believe in that much of a coincidence. Moral, not my time to go.

was on the highway with some other guys in there LS1 swapped cars ( cressy and a 318i ) and these young guys on there bikes wanted to race from 60 to whatever see who was fast. ok so i go first, kid with a R6 gets next to me, beeps his horn and i punched it, and he down shifts and i pulled away at first far enough where i could hear him rolling the throttle between gears. he got up next to me, i look i'm doing a 100 , 110, 120....150 i look over at the bike and i know what happens next, he hits rev limiter and fades away. oh he gives me excuses for like 10 mins. i didn't say anything i was amazed myself. so buddy in his bmw lines up next to gsxr 750, pretty much same thing but this guy on the bike didn't roll the throttle and kept his revs high so he walked away on the top end. And this is where it got sketchy. as were all doing over 100 mPH to catch up and see who was faster, we fly by a CHP on the side of the road towing a car. i seen his reflective lettering, so i pushed in the clutch and rolled by at idle, yet i was still going almost 100mph. the cars got off right away and we went and got food, the bikes vanished like they were never there. as i was on top of the over pass waiting for the light I seen 3 CHP cars with there red and blues on coming up the highway, but not sure where they went. and after all this i'm driving home and my neighbor kid a few miles down is having a party. i see all the cars on the side of the road so i slow down. then i see theres a bunch of the little sh!ts on the side of the road drinking beer, and i'm going like 40. low and behold 1 of them little fools threw a stick at my car. I slammed on the brakes and skid like 15 feet, put it in reverse did a backward burnout, stopped when i seen the kid. then hes looking at me like he knows i'm mad. i pointed at him with my right hand, i'm already in first gear, i'm in his driveway of his house, and i just dumped the clutch, kicked the braked pedal and goosed it. So i'm doing a brake stand in this kids driveway pointing at him..and i just let it run about 20 feet, and i let off and just roll away. chirped 3rd!!! this is why i don't go out on weekends. i'm very tempted to go back to that party find the kid and zip tie him to a telephone poll with some 48" panduit straps.
