Well I am sure most of you know the history behind this situation.

I have taken ownership of the wrecked quest & also the donor car. I am going to bring back both cars in a way, taking whats left of the wrecked quest & making the Silver Quest come to life. Unfortunatly, more work is/was needed than expected due to the horrible shape the wrecked quest was in. Major rust issue all over the car, along with gas tank rusted out, wiring hacked all to hell, transmission falling off of the block, clutch & flywheel bolts falling out, major oil leaks from all over engine/trans. oil pan bolts barley snug, Turbocharger has lots of shaft play & leaking oil, turbo held to manifold by 1 stud, Aftermarket BOV falling apart. Needless to say more the car hadn't been taken care of at all, one of the worst IMO.

In the past few days alot has happened:

- Removed Engine/Transmission, misc. parts from wrecked quest

- Repaired 11 inch hole in floorboard of Silver Quest

- Replaced Seals & Various Parts on Engine & Trans

- Installed Engine, Trans, Wiring etc.

- Installed factory Powersteering system, A/C system, Emission system, etc.

- Installed Intercooler, oil cooler hood latch bracing, etc.

After Removal of nessessary parts needed from wrecked quest, it will be crushed. If anyone needs anything I posted in the classifieds as well. The sad crushing will take place in 5 days. Also if anyone has any parts they would like to donate to help complete the Silver Quest back to its mostly stock form, with everything working on it, please let me know!!!

It is a sad situation what happened to the black quest, but due to it not being taken care of, it's life was pretty much miserable. The combination of the parts that are usable from both Quests, and things being done the right way will make this a very nice Quest in the end.

I will try my best to keep everyone updated with progress along with photos....

Thanks, yeah.

Hey Greg, what all was done to the engine? Have any details?

The Silver Quest is coming back together pretty nicely, I have done a bit more work in my free time:

- I have completely put back together the inside of the car

- Fixed all stripped turbo studs, installed new gasket & turbo

- Installed all intercooler piping & aligned hood up.

Also I am going to paint the car myself, I was thinking about doing a 2 tone, Black on top with Metallic Silver everywhere else.

Opinions on this???? Or any suggestions???

How was the pistons installed onto the rods? floating or pressed? Also, what are the rods good for on these 2.6L?

They are Press. They are good for about 450-500HP. Bottom end is bulletproof in these, minus thrust surface.
