I am moving, and i need to sell this car.

 

asking $4,500

 

located in Santa Clara CA

 

89 conquest Fiji blue SHP 83,000 miles.

 

i paid 3,000 for it 1.5 years ago. i have spent 7k in mods. so all together, im into this car for 10k.

The car needs nothing repair wise. The only thing ive noticed is the right front tire humms a bit above 45 miles an hour. most likely the tire itself. Nothing to do with safety, just a little excessive road noise..

 

The car is NOT smog legal. I dont want to get a letter in the mail after the car is sold, saying the car was modified and wont pass smog etc.

 

Basically i dont want to be held responsible later on. I need to find out what the legalities are when a car is sold without smogging it prior.

 

I have ALL the original smog equipment.

 

I think all the mods i have done to the car have been tasteful, done well, and NOT hacked. The car is fast, and i havent even up the boost.

 

List of MODS:

 

 

-*DM full hard pipe kit.

 

-*DM 3 inch exhaust with flew pipe

 

-*DM modified intercooler

 

-TEP aluminum radiator

 

-3 wire o2

 

-Magnacore wires

 

-greddy electronic boost controller

 

- over 1,000 dollars in cobalt autometer gauges

 

-ACT xtreme pressure plate with the street disc. Lightened flywheel, new clutch master and slave, steel braided clutch line.

 

- Short throw shifter

 

-Turbo xs blow off valve

 

- AMC Non jet valve head and Ajusa head gasket

 

-krank vents

 

-A/C has been eliminated.

 

-MK1 gauge overlays

 

-1st gen MAS

 

-steel braided lines. oil, coolant, ABS elimination, turbo feed.

 

-trilogy hood shocks

 

I also have a new master cylinder, and steel braided brake lines i havent installed yet.

 

 

The suspension is bone stock. But the SHP struts and shocks are rock solid, and the car handles awesome. Yokohama AVS tires. Has 83 tailights. Everything in the engine bay is super clean. Everything has been cleaned or painted. all the coolant hoses have been replaced with OEM. Battery is only 1.5 years old.

 

Interior is near perfect. Driver seat has the usual wear.

 

something splashed on the paint on the drivers door and quater panel, i think while i was on the freeway. Ate through the clear coat, but it isnt too bad, but noticable up close.. Has a few dents and dings here and there.rear spoiler is a bit faded. I talked to to a body shop guy, and he says the paint job can be restored with out repaintng the car.

I can't tell by the pictures, but how much body work is needed...Are they actual "dents" or just "dings". Basically, is it a bodyshop job or paintless dent removal time? Any brake mods? Size of turbo?...stock or ?? And the most important question of all...why won't it pass smog in CA? Is it purely a matter of putting the cats back on? or is it more than that? Let me know...I'm interested.

Ahhhh!!! why!!!!

The only dent that would require body work is on the driver rear quarter panel. but i have not talked to a dent removal guy about it, so it may not need body work. Theres another dent on the passengar door.

 

I will take some pics of all the body issues, alot easier than explaining it.

 

brakes are stock. ABS has been eliminated. i have a new master (even though the old one is fine) and steel braided lines. all you need is rotors and pads. but the stock setup now works perfect.

 

turbo is stock.

 

it wont pass smog becuase it has no cats, no EGR, no EVAP and no sec. air. and the hardpipes and blow off valve arent calif. smog legal.

 

It would take maybe half a day to put the car back to it being smog legal. I still have everything, but i just would rather not have to deal with it.

 

*DM's exhaust came with a test pipe, and a cat. so you could just slap the cat on.

I absolutely love this car man! This is one of Jason's friends and I have been interested in it for a while now...Ill talk to him more about it...I'm sure he will let you know whats up...If I cant get it shes a Beauty and Im trying everything I can right now to snag her

I took pics of all the dings, but most did not come out well.

 

So theres 3 door dings on the pass. door. 2 door dings on the drivers door. 1 small ding on the roof, probably from something falling

off a tree. the two dents on the drivers quater, the scratch on the pass. quater, rock chips on front bumper. and that should be it.

 

like i said, the paint and body does have it flaws, but the body guy told me the paint could be restored to 90 percent condition. if

it wasnt for the various dings and the splashed crap and the fading on the spoiler, the paint would be near perfect.

 

The handling on this car is superb for it being stock. I have the SHP shocks on max (8). And for the 12a and stock boost, the car is quick.

Thanks for posting additional pics...I'm going to play with some numbers over the holiday weekend and decide to take a one-way Grayhound/Amtrack trip to the Bay Area...incidentally, I bought my last two quests in the same area...LOL...same one-way trip...LOL. I'll give you a call if/when I have other questions.

"issues with the interior"

 

The center storage compartment latch is broken. The tape deck stopped working a few days ago. The driver seat has the usual wear. The rear seats are hard on top where they face the sun atre hard(usual stuff)
