speed racer Posted March 19, 2008 Report Share Posted March 19, 2008 helped a friend move and throw out some junk.In a box of stuff I have a 90 something galant alt.It's a 96 amp unit.I'd like to make it work on my starion.Has anyone done this?I know the gm alt thing works well but this was free and I'd like to use it.The connector plug is for 4 wires vs. 2 and the thing is physically bigger. wanna give it a try. gtbanas Posted March 19, 2008 Report Share Posted March 19, 2008 you will have to do a lot of fabrication to make it work, my opinion is that it would cost you a lot more than to replace your oem alt or go with a GM conversion. I believe that the Galant alt is clocked different from the Conquest alt, the Conquest alt is clocked at 12 and 6 for installation compared to the Galant's, not very sure, I tried this awhile back.
