1980Gbody Posted February 10, 2008 Report Share Posted February 10, 2008 well seeing im actualy starting to get stuff together for my monte build i figures i mine aswell start a thread. the project is not under way yet iim gather part and gonna do it all at once hopefully it will be done 4 the summer and all the car shows and cruise that come along wiht it body: im gonna do some body work when it gets a little warmer out then once thats done its getting painted the same two tone dark blue on light blue wiht a little more metallic. I was thinking about shaving everything but ill see were im at on the money problem when i get that far. i plan on getting a set of 17+ inch rims wiht some mikki street radials. interior: its getting redone wiht factory colors the dark blue and light blue, i plan on building a custom dash for it wiht after market gauges in it and also getting a better head unit. the trunks gonna have a fuelcell wiht a 20lb bottle sitting next to it drivetrain:it currently has a tci racing th350 trans in it the trans is only rated to 400hp so i might be needing a new one in the future.I was thinking about buying a 9inch ford set up for it but do to im on a bit of a budget im gonne just build the 7.5 inch for now forged moser axles, posi unit, and for gears i cant decide between goin wiht the 3.73 or a 4.10. im also throwing in a 2500 stall torq converter motor: i have a 383 rotating assembly over at my dads im currently building should be making around 500hp and 500torq to the crank wiht 10.7:1 compression part i have for the motor so far-383 eagle rotating assembly -Patiot aluminum heads 64cc 2.02 intake 1.6 exhaust-crane cam 488-510 lift 234-244 duration-100 long cromoly pushrods-7/16 1.6 ratio stainless steel roller rocker arms-aluminum stud girdles-high volume water pump-hei 65k distrubitor-holly 130gph mechanical fuel pump-double roller timing chain-headers-airgap intake manifold parts still needed to get the motor in the car and running -holly 750 carb-mini high torq starter-altinator 100amp-3 inch pypes exhaust x pipe wiht dumps and 40 series flowmasters-fuel pluming-aluminum radiator-electric fans-200 shot nos kit heres some pic of what the car looks like now basicly stock http://b7.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/00508/71/31/508921317_l.jpg http://b9.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/01563/92/29/1563789229_l.jpg http://a18.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/35/l_c660ff251e4a9ba2f2bc42529fb37489.jpg heres one of the only pics i have of the motor there more stuff on it now i just haven had the chance to get some pics rotating assembly http://a918.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/81/l_ff86e29e453512272687fa6eefc91b1d.jpg Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

shift1313 Posted March 4, 2008 Report Share Posted March 4, 2008 that thing looks good, on the rear axle. do you really want to dump that money in to axles and everything for a 7.5? a 12bolt rear will bolt right in wont it? or an early 10 bolt like pre 71ish. much stronger.
