Quest Ridin Sideways Posted January 26, 2008 Report Share Posted January 26, 2008 Have an 87 TSI for 800, located in KY. Body is black, both rear quarters have rust behind the wheels. Rest of body is pretty good, aside from the front lip. Interior is pretty nice, all black with leather, and relatively clean. I bought the car for a lot more, and on the drive home it started sputtering and such, pretty bad. I changed oil and did tuneup, and it hasnt done that since, but I think it needs new injectors. The quest started smoking, and I look to see the turbo leaking oil, so that at least needs to be rebuilt. When I drove the car, it felt good, but the turbo didnt, nor did the clutch. Tranny shifted quietly and smooth. Im calling this car "non running" because it does need work, which i listed, plus im sure it needs more. I havent done a compression test, because i was going to pull the motor and rebuild it to stock, but time doesnt allow this. I just want the car gone. Has good wheels and such. 3inch catback, 1g maf, different ecu out of newer quest. This would be a great partout, but i have no space to leave things laying around. Post back if you want pics. I drove it home from there and got the sputtering and such, got it home, did a tune up, replaced valve cover gasket, and it stopped doing that. The plugs were pretty old that came out. I was driving trucks, so I wasnt home much, reason for not much getting done to it. I had big plans, but you know how that stuff goes... Anyway, the offer for $500.
