Milbot8000
I have a set of alipne type-S 6.5" I would like to fit them in the doors, But our cars have 5.25" speakers in the door, correct? does anyone have any suggestions for fitting these 6.5" with out cutting the door pannel to pieces? Pics would be nice if you have them
Burton
I just cut the door panel, it cuts real easy, but if you're looking to keep things to where they can go back to stock, you either gotta build pods or go with 5.25s
Milbot8000
yeah, difficulty isnt and issue. I dunno why im trying to find a way around cutting, but it looks like that is the easist and cleanest way to go
claurance2
I may be mistakin but the 6.5 pioneers i bought fit the stock brackets. I had bought 51/4 but they were too small for the brackets. So the 6.5 should fit the doors just like stock.
JustPaus_88TSi
I'd make adapter rings out of 1/2" MDF personally.
Burton
The only problem I see with making an adapter plate but leaving the door panel stock is the fact that the door panels hole and cheesy grille cover wil diminish some of the sound. Also there is a small possibility of the speakers cone or surround hitting the back of the door panel.
Star_V8_Quest
I took my speakers out of my silver car and I had 6.5 alpines mounted on the metal frame.Looks like the previous owner drilled new holes to mount them but they fit perfect.
