rear side panel sub install.

Recommended Posts

recently had all of rear interior out to find water leak and decided i could put a 6 1/2 or an 8 behind the side panels with some work.If it weren't for the power seat belt junk maybe a 10 but that would be tricky.i think a pair of 8's would be the best way to go.

I used to do a lot of car audio but decided to play with speed when i got this car.so i retired from car audio.well i am coning out of retirement and why not start with my starion.

i don't want just BOOM BOOM BOOM.I want nice allaround sound but I have to keep the back seat(kids) and hatch back space(kid stuff and r/c airplane stuff)

Will most likely do this reguardless just curious if anybody tried this before in this car.

you def. need to check out Resonant Engineering 8"s. they are very nice. ill post a link of someone using one in the same type of install you are talking about. but they are only using one and it has been plenty.

http://respl.com/8.html <<< manufacturer's link of the 8. MSRP says $99 but if you call and order from RE you get the direct price whic is $49.

http://forums.acoustic-visions.com/index.p...p;f=10&t=17 <<<< this is a review of the sub by a MECA Sound Quality judge

http://community.webshots.com/album/54912839QceNga <<<<<< pics of the 8" install can be seen here

ive had experience with every one of RE's lines of subwoofers and every one has been the top most quality and easily one of the best bang for the buck speakers.  i know own a RE XXX 15 and a RE 8 and i am just downright impressed. the guys at RE are great and very helpful. good luck with your install.

Don't forget, if you do it right, you can have big sound without going big.  Just takes some imagination.

that is very correct. 137 decibles is amazing for an 8" sub, which is what that install above hit.
