Indiana
On the Magnas, they have a steel brace from the block to the intake. Â Are you guys using those? Â Are the blocks the same so the brace can be used? Â I finally have the TR pictures, I still don't know if the runners will hit the master cylinder and what I will do about that but after seeing the books I think it might have been the runners and not the plenum but I still have my fingers crossed. For you that have a setup installed already, what is the clearance you have between the master cylinder and the intake runners? http://www.geocities.com/boybeyers/EFIpage01.html http://www.geocities.com/boybeyers/tn01.jpg http://www.geocities.com/boybeyers/tr01.jpg
eeaston
I haven't seen/heard of anyone using a support brace. Â I'm not, but it sure couldn't hurt anything. Â I can measure that clearance next time I get to my car(tomorrow or Tues.) Â Are you going to use the TR unit? Â Do you have one already , or are you just exploring your options? Indiana
no no that hokey mess isn't mine, that's the stuff I could dig up when I was looking for the intakes.  He put that into a van I think.  I have the intake and it goes over into the master cylinder.  BUT in the bottom of the runners it gets flat a bit and I will remove about an inch, inch and a half and then it won't hit the master cylinder.  Both intakes came with support braces, just everyone was jipped out of them.  Glad to hear at least ONE of you now got the brace.  Now make some and sell them.  I got the intake off ebay, the guy had BOTH intakes.  The older one he had sold for I think $100AU and mine was $175. He had listed them like 4 times.  Mine shipped was I think around $178 total.  The fuel rail isn't as long as the older style.  the back of the plenum where the throttle body was won't hit anything so all I need is a cover plate bolted on.  That intake came standard over there with a 60mm throttlebody, I think the older style one was just plain tiny.  I don't need that big plate welded on to mount the throttlebody  either.  I need to take some pictures of it sitting in the car and you'll see what I mean.  None of those TR intake pictures are mine except the unmodded intake pic I used from the ebay listing.  There are no pictures of this intake in the car that I know of because I don't think anyone has one yet to try it.  It was 6 degrees here last night, I'm not going to get busy with that until it warms up allot more and I don't feel like smelling fuel oil for a hour while that building warms up just yet.  NO on that page that guys removed over half the runners' length.  I am only removing just enough to get it to clear the master cylinder.  But I guess you could do it that way and you will get a longer plenum with a different shape that's why I put that picture on there.  There aren't many picutres of this stuff.  I found last night another of someone doing the change and it looked/talked like he did it 10 years ago.  http://www.oldermitsubishis.co.uk/friends/gavin3.jpg there are some more here where I found this picture: http://www.oldermitsubishis.co.uk/
