Starfyter
So I bought a NJV head a while back and set it aside for the future, and I was looking at it the other day and noticed the front cam tower cap had a hairline crack in it. It's not very big, but still visible. Is the head junk now or can I swap a new cap over and have it line bored? Thanks guys.
Potamus
Just tig it up that's what i did to mine, then re drilled and taped the valve cover bolt hole. That is caused by over torquing the valve cover. Edited March 23, 2015 by Potamus
ucw458
You can swap a cap but you MUST plastigauge it with the cam installed to check the oil clearances. Caps are machined with the head so one cap may not work with another head without machining.
