shoquest2007 Posted November 8, 2014 Report Share Posted November 8, 2014 looking into swapping in a rack and pinion , but to the front of the crossmember. all i have seen is mounting in the rear. im looking for more room for the engine swap. what complications would i run into if i swapped the steering knuckles from driver to passenger to make them face forwards. clow340 Posted November 8, 2014 Report Share Posted November 8, 2014 Convette is doing it with good success but he added a plate to the bottom of the knuckle for the tie rod to connect to the front. If you look through his MASSIVE build thread i know all the info is in there on why he didnt just swap sides with the spindles. It might end up that you can do that but the angles could be off.
