roman88
hello guys wasn't sure where to put this question. Does anyone know what the fusible link amprage is for the link that goes from the alternator to the battery. I was thinking I can change it to a regular car fuse instead of the link so It will be easier to replace since I cant get the part from the dealership anymore. Thank you in advance foe the help. vbrad511
Links are "slow blow", meaning they take occasional spikes beyond their ratings without failing, to allow the known surges in the electrical system. A regular fuse would have to be considerably larger or would blow on a regular basis. New links are available from DAD, here on his site... http://www.enginemachineservice.com/conquest.html

STARION_NORTH
Fusible link can be purchased as a bulk roll, you can make your own by cutting lengths and adding terminals. Typically a link is 4 AWG sizes smaller than the wire it is to protect, not really an amperage rating like a fuse has.
markhansenconquest
clean all fuse terminals ....use dielectric grease on all terminals ...when u step on brake it makes ground thru brake switch...The acid fumes from battery destroys electric terminals.....clean and protect ...
