89PalermoSHP
Im hoping to pick up a 1990 2.4 Mighty Max. Is it likely its the wide block? Or... would it be easier to buy a 1G Talon/Eclipse and take the guts? Ive read over projectzerog a million times and for some reason it wont permeate my gray matter
quikconq
You want a wide or narrow block? The 2.4s in the trucks I'm pretty certain are all wideblocks. But some of the 2.0 in the trucks are wide and narrowAll the 1g turbo eclipses are 2.0 narrow blocks
ekstatixx
all 2.4s in mighty maxs are wideblocks. if you look over the build specs on zerog, they show what is needed to be plugged on a 2.4 block to bolt on a 4g63 head. dont think running boost through a stock 2.4 block is a good idea though! to run a eclipse 4g63 on a 2.4 mighty max, you need to have an adapter plate for the trans. not sure about the 2.0 trucks though rebuild that 2.4, slap on eclipse bits and have fun. or just drop a sq 2.6 in and do the same
Guest
I've boosted a 2.4 block. It ran fine with the proper tuning. Beat the hell out of it for over a year. In a 2G DSM. What are planning on running for engine computer? Intake manifold? Injectors? Exhaust mani and Turbo?
89PalermoSHP
Well that was just it... get the talon and take the engine/wiring. But I didnt think far enough ahead about the trans not bolting up. I really would like to do the hybrid motor. Its something that's always interested me and I would prefer dohc and mpi to the g54b. Although I wouldnt mind g54b since I am much more familiar. So point me in the right direction for the hybrid wideblock!
quikconq
Ok yes,,you want that motor out of that truck. All you need is the block and crank,,,,eagle rodsAre 300 bux,,,might as well get them,,,,you'll need new pistonsThose are in the 500 range,,,20over,,,,all the info will be in project 0gSite. You'll need a modified intake,,,or an aftermarket rwd intake. Your conquest 240 mm flywheel bolts right up,,,or 240 fidanza. Also 1g or 2g eclipse turbo engine harness and ecu. If i was to do one,I would 3/8 fill the block,,,,it'll stiffen the cylinderWalls,,,and shouldn't over heat. I've heard of guys 1/2 filling and not having An issue of over heating,,,and they were pushing 1000 or 1200 hp. Do your research,,,,,then do it again Short rundown Good luck and get out that wallet. They are fun rides. Edited November 5, 2012 by quikconq
