Chad Posted June 29, 2012 Report Share Posted June 29, 2012 they allow air to circulate into the interior from outside when the outside vents are open and the windows are up. Without them, you would get no air flow and the car would be all stuffy and nasty inside. The air flow is very restricted though, so they appear to do nothing unless you cut up a car and see that they do allow some air to flow into and out of of the cabin. Without some kind of vent you would have a real hard time closing the door because you would be trying to compress the air inside.
