If i put 12 volts to the fuel pump under the spare tire black and yellow + and black is - and the fuel line off the carb should fuel start comming out? With the jumper wire attached to the test port on the early cars the pump runs, on the later cars there is only a single terminal in the test port. You must run a jumper wire to the positive battery post to this test port terminal to activate the pump. seanc77339 Posted January 31, 2012 Report Share Posted January 31, 2012 I have tried the fuel pump jumper port on my 1987 flatbody and I do not hear the fuel pump turning on. It has been sitting for 2 months but it was running and functioning 2 months ago. The fuel pump is a year old. WHat could be causing this??
