I know you guys love to see pictures of progress and such so I figure I would start me a little thread. First I will take pictures of the parts as they trickle in through the mail. I am expecting a few packages containing very needed and useful parts. For starters:

The rear studs were a bit more work. Unfortunatly I do not have as many pictures for those.

 

Remove the caliper, and then the rotor for easier access to the studs.

Popped the old studs out. Filled up an old nut with anti sieze and hit it with the air impact to pull the NEW studs through the hub.

New studs in, time to put the caliper back on and apply Anti Sieze.

I snapped two of them trying to get them off and one of em was stripped. So I replaced em all. Preventative. Plus I bought all new crome lug nuts and I did not want to put brand new lug nuts on crappy lugs. Edited by QuestFan

Couple more items added up top! Now for some more progress pics. I have a dilema. Please help. Sorry for the dark pictures. I will take better ones tomorrow. Also need to know the thread info on the oil filter adapter plate where the turbo oil feed line threads into. Gotta get a new adapter for my steel braided oil feed line.

 

I cant clock the turbo any more than this below. Is that angle for the oil feed and return safe? Or does it have to be exactly vertical?

This is why I cant clock the turbo much farther clockwise. The right water port will hit on the turbo flange.

Also, question for the other treadstone users, what did you do for a oil drain coming OFF THE TURBO? I've got this:

You'll be ok with that angle, I think. I've seen turbos mounted semi-vertically and they still work. With yours, it's just rotated a bit, and the oil comes in at high pressure, so it should be fine.

 

The oil drain, I bought an adapter so I could install a threaded 1/2" or whatever to hose nipple thing. It's like yours but straight down so it would go directly to the oil pump.

 

Also, please do this: after you tighten the bolts down for the turbo-to-manifold connection, drill small holes in them, then use safety wire to keep them from unscrewing themselves. One of mine just fell out last winter.

 

oh yeah, also just take off the oil cooler plate (take the filter off, the 14mm nut on the "ear" and the 30mm nut piece) then get the adapter that goes into the feed line, and use a tap to re-thread the plate. That's what I did. Now you have standard threads and parts are available everywhere for those.

You mean oil pan? How would that go directly to the oil pan if the turbo drain is positioned a few inches farther back than the drain fitting on your pan? How did you route the hose for your oil drain? Behind the filter??

I hope so. I can clock it just a weeee bit more after I get that water line tightened up.

Turbo was like siezed together. Took forever to get it broke loose to clock it.

Did you use those high heat lock nuts? I have had problems with standard nuts with lock washers backing off. But never the high heat lock nuts.

This should work with my turbonetics T3/T4 hybrid right?: http://www.summitrac...arts/TNT-20259/ Gonna use that and a 1/2" NPT to 5/8" hose barb fitting for the oil drain on the turbo.

I meant to post this earlier, but this is just to give you an idea of what the heck I'm talking about for oil drain for the turbo.

Thank you Technology You have been such a big help. Just waiting on parts to get here so I can finish this thing. In the meantime I did some cleaning up, mounted my IC the right way, cleaned up a little hoses and wires. Pictures:
