Cobalt60
Just bought a new vehicle, so I need to get rid of my BER (Beyond Economical Repair) '87 Conquest TSi. It looks like my '87 Conquest TSi has so much rust it basically cant be repaired. I bought it for $700 and probably put about $3000 (I have receipts) into it to keep her running reliably. So the car drives fine, but ultimately, its really just a parts car. I bought the car with 130,000 miles 3 years ago, and it now has 140,000 miles, so any new parts put in it have less than 10,000 miles on them. New clutch 225mm240mm flywheel not installed, lightened to 22lbs, balanced, and re-surfaced (will need to be re-surfaced again)New fuel injectors (bought from GP here)New injector clips (from DAD)New radiator (the kind meant for a clutch fan w/ no temp sensor holes)New fan clutch and used truck fan blade (kind of a hack, I have 2 different fan clutches)Fan shroud (spray painted gray but I missed some spots)New front brakesNew front mount bearings (not installed)New front shocks (not installed)Mookeeh 3" stainless steel cat-back exhaust3" catSmaller diameter Grant steering wheelNew self made fusible links (theyre pretty nice)Brass battery terminalsAccel ignition coilRear tires are yokohama 245/45R16 with good tread, but one had a nail and was repairedHas an actual conversion to manual steering (new manual gear box and steering column)Still have original steering column (not installed)New differential mountsNew ball joints (not installed)88/89 ECUStill have original ECU (not installed) Well, I think that about settles what is new on it. Though I probably missed something. The car runs great, shifts good, has some dents and a few quirks . All in all its a parts car or a beater. Car is located in Newport News Virginia. Im pretty confident this car would drive across the country if it had to. I figure the exhaust is worth at least $200, the injectors $50, the ECU $20, the radiator $20. So in all reality, Id probably let the car itself go for as little as $300, though with all $3500 or so I have invested, Id like a little more. FYI I have someone interested in the motor, not sure if that will work out. You can call me at (860)212-5803, and my name is Chris. I can even drive the vehicle to you if you drive me back home. Well lemme know if theres any interest Thanks -Chris P

Cobalt60
Oh and sorry but I do not have the title. I lost it. I could probably get a new one mailed to me. But I am considering this more of a parts car. You dont need the title to register in virginia anyway. But this thing will never pass inspection with all the rust. I just deal with getting pulled over every couple months lol. The tickets are cheap but taking a day off work to go to court is what kills me. -Chris P
Cobalt60
I did leave out a few new parts. Water pump is new. Has I believe new upper and lower radiator hoses. Has new coolant line to turbo. Rarely goes above half way on the temp gauge. Oil pressure is usually a little over half to 2/3 while driving, 1/4 to 1/3 at idle. In the past 3 years I have owned it, oil has been changed about every 2500 miles, except last time I went to about 4000. When I first bought the car, I did a compression test, it was about 115psi straight across with seriously like no oil. With oil its probably better and at least consistent. I had the rear differential fluid changed as well, with LSD additive. For some more bad, the steering has some play in it. The coupler is new, but I think maybe it has worn out due to the manual conversion combined with 225 tires up front. Or maybe its some other reason I dont know. -Chris P

ryanx26
If you could get a title, and are for sure the car could drive back to MO then I would purchase it from you. I have a couple people on the inside that I could get to pass inspection despite the rust. Let me know.

Cobalt60
u got it for 7I got it for $700 and then put about $2500 into it. I have receipts. did you title it in your name before loosing the title?Yes in Connecticut are for sure the car could drive back to MOYes. I have an offer for $500 on Sunday as a parts car. If you can offer me considerably more than that PM/call/text me, and I will look into getting the duplicate title. Personally, Id take all the good parts (including motor and tranny) and put them into a roller. Or sell off the parts individually. -Chris
Cobalt60
To list off a few more problems, the parking brake doesnt work due to bad cables. The drivers side seat belt grinds constantly (off track?). Wearing it under my armpit usually fixes it but over the years I dont even notice it any more. When I got pulled over for no inspection earlier today the officer told me my center brake light was out. I told him I only knew about the right tail light lol. Rear wiper doesnt work (also off track?). Antenna has been physically broken off. Comes with a CD player though w/ aux in on the front. And I think 1 speaker is blown. Front tires are Toyo 225/50R16 that are pretty low on tread (bought used). Rear tires are Yokohama 245/45R16 that are really great with lots of tread, but one was plugged from a nail hole. Heater works 50% of the time you want it to. Occasionally, the head lights dont try to come down. But when theyre down they ALWAYS will pop up. I trust this car more than the $3100 Suzuki Samurai I bought. But at least the Samurai doesnt have any rust. -Chris P
REDi
dont EVER expect to get the money back u put in a car.. its a money pit.. i put over 20k in my 6speed tib and i sold it for a grand.. all in all with the issues and rust u have goin on this car in reality isnt worth what u paid for it so if u can get $500 id sell. i just wanted the exhaust and a couple other parts. i think ud make ALOT more if u parted it out completely. i retract my offer for dibs concidering my offer was ignored for $200 more than what some guy offered u already. good luck with sale.
