VICE
I'm about to order custom rims from Diamond Racing Wheels and I have the specs in mind. 15 x 8's all around, -10 offset for the rears and +18 for the fronts.. BUT they can't do those exact offsets they said the rears would have to be either -12 or smaller I think he said 0, no in betweens and the fronts would have to come down to a +12 offset.. Would that throw the offsets off too much and make the wheels look funky hidden inside? So if I go to the next size over the offsets they might stick out too much and hit the fenders but if I go too in it would look silly... Help me out people give me some theories.. garychoffmann
going to a +12 will actually make them fit further out, -12 will be fine, both will stick out just a hair further than stock
dem0ntsi
The lower the offset the better but why would you go with a 15 inch rim?
VICE
We're just talking a few mm's here but I don't want them to touch the body I had plans to get these rims at those offsets but cant get those exact numbers.. Not a big fan of big rims and low profiles, 15's are used by a lot of race cars and cheaper tires Did I mention that I want Chrome-- With the Eibach springs and MookeeH gas shocks it already drops like 1.25 to 1.5 IN. so 225 15's all around, I might go with 50 or 60 tall but it'll be much lower to the ground already... JustPaus_88TSi
Vice, you won't have any issues with those sizes/offsets as far as clearance goes. Do those rims not come in a wider size for the rear? incorrect. Comeplete opposite haha. Nope, he's right.
VICE
Nice so they'll fit fine after all.. -12 and +12 were the closest offsets I got to what he can make. Herre is a proggress pic of the Rebuild..http://lh3.ggpht.com/_hllfg0A_1bY/TIH2-QuoksI/AAAAAAAAB9Q/Q8vvY8X4KxM/s800/DSC00424.JPG
BOOSTED88tsi
How is a +12 going to sit further out aka poke more than a negative 12?
JustPaus_88TSi
Reread what he said. We're comparing +12's/-12's to the stock +18's/-10's.

VICE
The Rims are finally in and mounted! They are everything I was expecting I am psyched! Can't wait to see the car on the ground!http://lh4.ggpht.com/_hllfg0A_1bY/TJw62K0fx1I/AAAAAAAACDc/DFRLuwdlFiY/s800/DSC00602.JPGhttp://lh4.ggpht.com/_hllfg0A_1bY/TJw622TYqLI/AAAAAAAACDg/RCR_4dQwUEI/s800/DSC00603.JPGhttp://lh4.ggpht.com/_hllfg0A_1bY/TJw63gsZebI/AAAAAAAACDk/snfJKcoEqqU/s800/DSC00605.JPGhttp://lh5.ggpht.com/_hllfg0A_1bY/TJw66BSMxYI/AAAAAAAACDw/KTUgYTLZWQM/s800/DSC00614.JPGLoL About a year later I finally got the rims I wanted and sold the polished SHP's for $400 --Diamond racing took 2 weeks to make these wheels and only 3 days for delivery at $20 a wheel. Riding on brand new Kumho Ecstas 225 50 15 all around, the rear deep dish looks sweet -12 offset on rears and +12 on fronts, 15x8 Chrome plated Steel wheels weighing at about 22 pounds a piece. Outer tie rods seem to just barely touch the wheel on both sides and will be dremeled lightly. Edited September 24, 2010 by VICE
tehzack
Shoulda run a 15x10/15x12 stagger.
VICE
Shoulda run a 15x10/15x12 stagger. Yeah yeah, trust me I wanted to put 15x10's in the rear it was a tough desicion but I hear running same sized tires all around gives you better handling and I wanted to stay Super Street and smaller tires are easier and cheaper to get.
