zmds18
hi want to do same.. need some advice on the procedure to install the ac controls in the lower radio pocket opening in console... thanks! its the worlds bigest pita.... just fyi lol... friend of mine was the previous owner and did it... its a TOOOOOOOOOOOOON of sodering time to extend the wires Edited August 17, 2010 by zmds18
nickireson
Its actually not bad to do at all. No extending wires needed. Just pull it all apart (pretty self explanatory), then disconnect all the climate control interfaces and boxes etc. You have to bend down one metal leg coming off of the control box to make it fit, but your end goal is to pile it all together. (This will only work with a single din head unit, stock radio, forget it. For that, you'd have to extend all the wires. I also used alot of 2 part epoxy and plastic pieces from the dash kit, but mainly to support the boost controller, and some also to hold in the control interface. Let me know if you have more specific questions...

D_Venable
the opening for the HVAC controls, once they and the trim piece around it is moved, is larger than the DIN radio size
88FIJIQUEST
the opening for the HVAC controls, once they and the trim piece around it is moved, is larger than the DIN radio size so what do you suggest instead?
D_Venable
just make yourself a flat panel, and use a hole saw for the gauge openings.
