mr88tsi Posted January 12, 2010 Report Share Posted January 12, 2010 i just baught a quest a couple months ago without knowing what they are but i did my research but theres still a couple of things about mine that bug me .first the car revs to 7,200-7,300 rpm i know thats not normal.and it idles at 400 to 500 rpm dontknow if thats normal.it looks completely stock runs perfect no hick ups .what would have to be done to the motor for it to handle that rpm dont know if previouse owners tinkered with it Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Burton Posted January 12, 2010 Report Share Posted January 12, 2010 400-500 is a little low. I'd be looking for it around 800 but less than 1000 RPM. Do an ISC/TPS reset and see if that helps. As far as high RPM, you're wasting your time revving it above 6000. These ain't little 1.5 liter Hondas you can rev to 9k. I know my car is out of it's pwerband well before I get to 6k.
