Four wires to the coil in total, two on each sides of the coil. Wired according to the FAQ supplied above. Will clean the grounds in the morning and see if anything changes. Just waiting on my new knock box to arrive Hope it fixs the issue ;/ Just took the knock box apart and it has fried circuits on the inside. Ordered a new one and will update once it is in the car.

I get voltage to the tps, cts and injectors at the correct levels. I am suspecting it is the igniter, which is the knock box correct that is my issue? Will retest coil for voltage level as it's the only step i've left out of the ignition troubleshooting section of the fsm since its brand new, but you may be right and the coil is not recieving power from the key switch. Thanks very insightful.

Start and drove after the head replacement over 27,000 miles. Compression test are showing great compression. Was only stating the head work to show i do have an understanding of these vehicles and the specs. Battery voltage is perfectly fine. The problem is spark related only, and yes i have read the manual multiple times(at least 25). Fuseable links are brand new also(replaced those 3 months ago). Tested resistance on all fuseable links and they match with what they should be. Again the problem is only spark related. And I have reviewed both links you posted prior to posting here... Thats why I'm asking for some help or if maybe someone has experienced the same issue. Thanks again...

Thats where I believed it was located, just wanted to confirm. I have the entire manual printed in paper form and have been threw it front to back. Done a head replacement on the car a year back. This one has threw me threw the loop. Had spark now its gone. Thanks for the advice. Figure someone has the answer I'm looking to hear to put me back on the road!

I have a replacement cap and rotor that will be in tomorrow. Where is the knock box located at? Is there any method for testing it?

Yes it ran rich(could smell it). Yes it did bog down as before once put into gear, and yes it blew a small amount of smoke, when it had not blown any smoke before. Pulled the old plugs, looked pretty good still but they were wet; Was running ngk. Everyone was out of ngk's so I have a pair of brand new autolite plugs I am using right now. No spark even from the High tension cable out of the ignition coil. -
Allright, I have got it down to a spark issue here. I have no spark at all now coming from the ignition coil. I have Replaced the coil, plug wires and plugs so they are all brand new. Also has a new alternator. Car turns over, with no fuel pressure / pump or injector issues. Simply dont have spark at all anymore. No spark from the high tension cable. No spark at the plugs either. Have not spun the distributor by hand only via cranking the motor. Three Questions: 1. What will cause a complete lack of spark on our cars? (knockbox) 2. If it is the Knockbox. Found one online- part #5403 or MD093767, will this work with my 88 quest? 3. Anyone have some pics of the proper wiring for the ignition coil? (better safe than sorry)

Alright tested everything again. It did spray some fuel all right. After doing some backtracking, the car will not fire oer with the starter fluid now. Pulled the plugs and as expected no spark. I believe this is a spark related issue after all. just install a brand new coil. Going to grab a new cap and rotor like I had planned on doing early. If it is not the coil or cap and rotor. What does that leave to check. MY GUESS LIST: 1. Knock box 2. ECU / ECM 3. ?????? Also if the knock box was going down could i potentially have spark at one moment and then no park the next minute.
