Dad
This is how we prime an engine after rebuild. You may want to get one of these if you do quite a few engines, or make you own Here is the tank. http://www.enginemachineservice.com/prime2.jpg We attach the hose to the front fitting of the block.... http://www.enginemachineservice.com/prime4.jpg http://www.enginemachineservice.com/prime1.jpg The tank is filled with oil then pressurised to 100-120 lbs shop air. There is a valve on top to release the pressurised oil.. as you can see oil is fed untill you no longer see any bubbles from the rockers. This will also prime the oil pump. http://www.enginemachineservice.com/prime3.jpg I did have to rig up some plugs for the oil cooler fittings and turbo feed line to plug them off. This works great in the car as it will prime the turbo and fill the oil cooler and lines BEFORE ENGINE START UP. Just thought I'd let you know. Dad
You can also make a tank, just be sure it is CLEAN. need a place to install oil, ball valves can be installed at the bottom to feed oil. Air fitting to add pressure. Just be sure to close off the valve before tank empties to prevent air from entering the engine. Dad
