mrvwbug
I just got my car dialed in at a respectable shop. But it feels just like it not 100 percent. It's like there is turbo lag at 3800-4500 rpm. It didn't do it the day I picked it from the shop. However, this is what has been done to the car at it's last visit. New plugs and plug wires.New MAS not a used one.Cleaned injectors and throughly testedNew fuel pump and filters from end to endTemp sensorNew turbo gasketNew vacuum advance If you have any ideas please let me know as about the only is some octane boost as I don't trust the crap gas they handing out at gas stations these days. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm trying to get it 100 percent before the PF meet. Thanks All! Frenchi934
there's a lot of variables here... were the plugs properly gapped?
The Rabbit1
what plugs? at what gap? is that the same gap the plugs removed had?
creakyjoints
They might have put in the wrong vacuum advance. They have to use one for the starquest not just a 2.6 engine. Turbo and N/A use different advances.
mrvwbug
I know which plugs as I've read the threads on here before. Let me double check the gap. What is the gap I've heard from .039-.044?I got the vacuum advance from Advanced auto parts, so let me double check this. If anyone has the exact vacuum advance please let me know. Will a Borg Warner V485 vacuum advance be the correct one? Thanks All! Slim Jim Edited May 29, 2011 by mrvwbug
mrvwbug
After adding a talon BOV with a t-pipe and the turbo lag issue is solved for what ever reason. I guess the hose either had a small pin hole or wasnt tight; however, I checked it several times which means it was probably the ladder. It runs great now. Just need the A/C going and then everything works! The plugs and vacuum advance appear to be correct.
