mark_hub
My boost cuts out at around 3400 and car sputters like a fuel cut... I'm thinkin the vacuum advance in the distributor..?
hachi_destroyer
is it like a lurch? or does the boost die and not come back?
le fou
sorry I take the post, I have the same problem, it looks like a fuel cut, but the turbo pressure but still fall when revs. The fuel cut comes at what pressure I can not find in the RTA
Indiana
Leaky or dirty injectors, Dirty or loose injector clips. Coolant temp. gauge unit connector incorrectly put on the CTS. Make sure the CTS connector has a black wire and a yellow striped wire. The CTS is the one that points up and has a molded oval end. Wrong spark plugs. The pressure sensor. This runs through a solenoid valve. There's a hose from the sensor, through the solenoid to a port on your throttle body. The port is to the back on the left side and a little higher up than the rest. There's a branch off the solenoid valve that the ECU opens every few minutes to sample the atmospheric pressure and you can't just cap it off. It was ran to the air clean can originally so the air it did draw back through depending on the boost and throttle position wouldn't let dirty engine bay air enter the valve and cause it to later stick or contaminate your pressure sensor. Since you have two pretty large size injectors that are both firing back and forth all the time, if one is dirty it runs bad but if both are dirty it will run really bad and usually too rich and your plugs get fouled and its hard to start especially if its just with 20 minutes or so after you shut it off. If that's true than you have an injector that isn't seating and its dripping fuel. To test the vac. adv., remove the dist. cap and rotor and watch the arm while you suck on the hose. The arm should pull in then cover the end of the hose with your tongue and watch the arm, it can't move. If the does move its bad and must be replaced. The old grease in the dist. turns sticky and gums up and causes the governor to react too slow. Edited October 29, 2011 by Indiana
le fou
I also at low speed of a sudden kind of like he lacked gasoline (fuel pump, which weakens?), it does the fact that between 1200-2500 rpm if I drive on the highway to 3000 'no worries and occasionally the car that I hold. I thought maybe the flowmeter could be dirty and that the fuel pump which is weakening. I will also change the fuel filter to see what state it is. I thank you for your explanations Indiana;-) google translation
StarquestRescue
Le fou, i believe the original poster has an 1983. Your car looks like a usa 1987 spec model. Some advice is the same some is not.
Indiana
The lack of power or hesitation at the lower rpms could be a dirty TPS. If the vehicle has sat unused for a long period of time those can take awhile to begin working as well as they did in the past. A few days and they should be ok. Indiana
Have you inspected your spark plugs? Which spark plug are you using? The TPS is on one end of the throttle shaft.
