vbrad511
I've got an older Compaq that's been running off a wireless card for quite a while now. Last week there were issues with Comcast being out of connection (for my wired as well), and since things have come back up I can't connect on the wireless. It shows as being connected, but it won't let me online. I'm on a dlink router. Keep in mind I have no experience with wireless stuff, so I may not know the terms or where to find cetain settings. travs87tsi
have you tried restarting the router and cable modem?
vbrad511
Sure have. Had to restart things when Comcast went down. Fought with it and them for a couple days. It does have connection as per the readings on Network Connections and the windows in the task bar, but it won't let me connect. It's gotta be some setting somewhere that got tripped that I don't know how to undo.

Killtodie
go to the run comand. type in cmd, hit enter. in the cmd window type in ipcofig /all you should see a bunch of numbers, shoulnt be any blanks or 0s. then try this, type in ipconfig /release and after that ipconfig /renew see if the internet works then. are there any other devices that are having internet issues? are all the lights on the cable modem and router green? let us know how that goes
