SFBMX88
I like. Good work man! How hard was the trans swap? What did u do for the cross member? Im doing one now. I mounted from the original auto trans mount in the tunnel to the manual trans. It was crude at first, and still is I think, but it works. Now that I have access to a welder, I should revisit this... http://i.imgur.com/kC7C9.jpg So sloppy... http://i.imgur.com/Wc83j.jpg The original mounts I did above flexed way too much. I eventually corrected this(I'll post pics later). There should be an auto to manual thread here somewhere. It showed different methods of mounting. I think someone actually welded mounts to the tunnel so the manual trans crossmember bolts straight to it. SFBMX88
November 2010: Some random steel I welded together to practice my welding: http://i.imgur.com/amC8G.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/7lers.jpg Converted to an 88 ECM/igniter/harness/1g DSM maf. I also snagged some nicer injector clips from a Crown Victoria at the junkyard. They fit perfect and have the same inner connector shape as OEM, so they wont crack your injector plastic. Proper way to switch to a 1g MAF plug - de-pin the connectors and swap! All the wires swap directly over to the 1g connector in the same positions. Just keep track of the wires by changing over one by one. Also delete the 7th wire thats by itself from the 1g connector. http://i.imgur.com/6XxmJ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/xlAmi.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/HKY4G.jpg I adapted the 88 harness to the 86 under dash connector. I also jumped 2 wires at the boost sensor(mounted on the firewall) so the factory boost gauge would still work. I think its the Red(yellow trace) and Yellow(green trace) wires that have to by joined together. *Consult your FSM on your specific year * http://i.imgur.com/rsti7.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/nVj9k.jpg Ford injector plugs were soldered in place http://i.imgur.com/1N5XX.jpg Good bye! http://i.imgur.com/ZLFzi.jpg A direct comparison http://i.imgur.com/soj0S.jpg Keeping it organized before cutting http://i.imgur.com/FA7Vc.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/z3iDA.jpg Ready to go in for some plug and play.. http://i.imgur.com/mJwRG.jpg Mounted the igniter to the fuse/relay cover: http://i.imgur.com/XhGm6.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/8cm6d.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/1Mowt.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/5nISB.jpg Boost sensor and solenoid were removed.. http://i.imgur.com/qU11u.jpg
