rear differential kaaz or torsen
ineedarandomname replied to ineedarandomname's topic in Transmission Swaps
What I'm trying to get at is a simple traction control system. The Torsen diff. transfers torque from the slipping wheel to the wheel with the most grip, and I think you can get it in 1.5 or 2 way. Where as the KAAZ is a clutch type diff. and provides 100% power if a wheel lifts off ground, so when the wheel touches back down it has full power. I would explain more of my reasons for asking but my keyboard Is acting up. Took 10min. to type this. -
Has anyone ever used one or both of these? If so in what application(race, drag, daily)?

http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150702127731391.446902.727196390&type=1 that's the link for pictures If you will notice there is a small gap between the screen and stock location. The reason for that is because I have not put the black plastic boarder on I am going to have the grind it down a little to make it fit. Cons there is not alot of room for wires in the back is you want pics of that i'll post some more at that link. pro didn't have to make any new holes for bolts and what not, bolted right in and came with some brackets to support the rear of the unit.

Long story short if you hit the vacuum adv. while the car is in to on position the ISC will do something, but the spark plugs were foul'd.

I have searched on here for some info. But no luck. Here's whats been done Car had the give it any gas and it would try to die. *Replaced injector clips and fixed that problem. (did them the right way and soldered the connections and taped them up.) Now the next day I installed an electric boost gauge and put it in the Gauge Cluster. Tied into constant 12v, and grounded to the ground next to the radio. Took the white wire and tied it into a ACC. on the back of the gauge cluster. Took the orange wire and tied it into the The head light switch. The gauge is a DEPO Racing Stepper it gives a mechanical and digital readout. Put everything back together and would not start, it is getting fuel but will not start. Put the stock gauge back in and still would not start, it is getting fuel. I also was trying to pull the center console at the same time. I also redid the vacuum lines so I only have the 3 on the throttle body, I used this site for the guide on that and after doing the clips and this car ran fine. What is on the car now 1987 conquest tsi TEP OVC pipe TEP 2.5'' exhaust - turbo back Turbo XS type-h BOV have not changed fuel filter yet have NGK 7031 but have not installed yet trying to find the gap on this site can't remember where I saw it. Wires are on their way wait on them to be built and shipping. 100amp ALT. not installed I believe that is everything, I have done and have for the car I know I am not getting any spark pulled one of the wires no arcing pulled main line to Dis. no arcing pull main from coil no arcing Did and OHM test to coil and I believe I got 6.3 Not sure tho I hate doing electrical stuff so do not know if I am doing that right. Have not checked fuses yet, I am looking for any other fuse boxes not under the dash, cause I cant find any others, I believe I am blind. Any ideas would be great. Thanks

What I need to know is the head gasket, on a DSM you can run up to 28-34psi max. on 4 layer metal head gasket, Not looking for infomation on tuning or turbos right now, I understand the eff. and how forced induction works. What I need is that since the head and the pistions are the weak points on these motors, how high of boost levels can be run and safely? I'm not running a FP 3065 turbo which isn't good below 30psi, just need to know that the engine can handle? I will agree a wideban is a wonderful tool for tuning. Also has anyone had luck with a potentiometer wired to a 1g MAF. -

ya, already went through most of that so not sure why you posted a link to it. A better link to post would be "The metal head gasket and your hoquest, what boost levels you can run safely." That would be something I need and haven't looked for yet, Granted this is not a DSM where I can run whatever boost levels I want, and now it's time for work -
Yes, I bought a completely stock car, need to figure out a mod. list to make it into a DD. First things first will be draining and/or cleaning the intercooler, and putting a full exhaust on the car. The 25 year old cat. is almost clogged. no rust! Gooch/ huntsville, AL
