  1. wt.......theres nothing "rice" 'bout that car!!! That theres one hundred percent All American Beef! Now...tank a Japanese or any other Asian made car and try to make it look like a Superbird...then you can say "rice". And as far as I know, we all drive "rice" cars, since I can last recall someone in a mustang yell "rice" at me at a stop light. I think it looks rather decent, since I cant really hang with Mustangs.
  2. That's tough looking. You used spacers on your car?
  3. SO HERE'S THE LATEST ON MY SURGING...IT SEEMS THAT THE FUEL PUMP I HAD PREVIOUSLY REPLACED(FROM THE 1988 CONQUEST) WASN'T GOOD EITHER...THE WAY IT GOES IS THAT IF YOU CAN HEAR IT-IT'S ON IT'S WAY TO IT'S DEATH...ONCE YOU CAN'T HEAR IT ANYMORE,...IT'S DEAD. AND ONE THING I DID NOTICE WAS THAT IT WAS MAKING NOISE WHEN I CHANGED IT BUT I FIGURED THAT WAS A SIGN THAT IT WAS WORKING---WRONG! SO THEY ARE GOING TO TRY TO GET THE FUEL PUMPING AND THEY(THE MECHANICS)BELIEVE THAT THAT WILL DO THE TRICK...$499.97 LATER THAT IS.
  4. Okay my fellow virtual mechanic advisors. I guess you can say that I am not 100% sure that the used injectors are working. But the fuel flow did improve significantly in my opinion. I could definetly tell the difference from the original one's it came with. I will be doing a lot of printing from the Newbee Checklist but I'll still tell you what I have done so far. I have replaced the following parts off of a 60K mile 1988 Garaged Conquest in excellent cond. #1. Fuel pump (Reason behind this was b'cuz it would start but once the engine got hot and I'd turn the car off-it would not budge from that spot. It would try to puck but nothing...until it cooled off.) Replacing this took care of that. #2 Fuel injectors #3. Vamuume Advance And brand new Injector Clips!! THEY WERE SO OLD THE WIRES JUST TURNED INTO CRISP WHEN I TOOK THEM OFF. So after all of this I still get the surging. Mind that the surging didn't start until I dropped the tank and changed the fuel pump + injectors. So at about 25 MPH I took the car to the mechanic...we'll see what they say after the $125 diagnostic.
  5. Dude thanks for that part # I'll head over to Auto Zone in a bit and let you know...
  6. Sigh...here is the status. I sucked on the vacuume advance like you said and yeah you were right. So luckily I have this 88 Conquest that i'm using for parts and switched the vacuume advance has wonderful suction. As for the injector clips well I did this thing for the meantime where it's tied with a tie to keep it in place but they ARE BOTH connected. And guess what? It still surges...what the heck could it be? I'm thinking I should just shell out the couple hundred (hopefully not thousand) and just take it to the mechanic...unless there are any other ideas???
  7. THANKS A LOT. I'LL START WORKING ON THE MISSING CLIP AND ALSO THE VACUUME ADVANCE. YOU GUYS JUST SAVED ME A COUPLE HUNDRED BUCKS I DON'T HAVE!
  8. HAHAHA! Thanks for having a soft spot. Well 1 of the injector clips is missing...would that cause the surging? I haven't looked into the vacuume advance...will do that. You see the surging happens when the turbo wants to boost...but there is no play...so that's what leads me to believe that it's the wastegate...what do you think?
  9. REALLY REALLY NEED SOME HELP HERE. I CHANGED THE FUEL PUMP AND INJECTORS...PRIOR TO THIS CAR NEVER HAD THIS SURGING PROBLEM. NOW I REACH 3K ROUNDS AND THE CAR STARTS TO SURGE. IF I GO LOWER THAN 3K THE CAR SEEMS TO BE FINE...IS THIS A PROBLEM WITH THE VACUUME LINES? IS IT THE TURBO WASTEGATE? I JUST DON'T GET IT. IF ANYONE HAS HAD THIS PROB....PLLLLEEEASEEE HELP! THANKS.
  10. Hey thanks. Your message helped a lot. Im glad I've run into members who do help. I got my machine started and Im extremely happy with that.
  11. I purchased a '87 Starion about a week and some. It wouldnt start sometimes, and I had to have it towed home. Today, I was looking around the alternator and the coil, just trying to make sure everything was good with the distributer. When I followed the wires coming from the coil, one of them just came off. I promise, I did not tug or pull on it. From the look of it, it looked pretty fraid ( think thats how you spell that). I didnt have a chance to take a picture of it, most likely tommorrow morning ( Ill post it up) This particuler wire went from the coil to the engine down by the alternator. Before I mess something up Id like to be sure with advice from the experts here at starquest.com. Does anyone know where the wire should go??? The male and female connectors are white. Its one of four that go to the coil. It runs somewhere under the distributer, oh, the car will not turn on without it, and I cant roll up the windows either. Any advice will help.
  12. Hey, do you still have the wheels, and if so what size. Im in Cali.
  13. To bad it's on the other side of the States . Im looking for stockers.
  14. Thanks for your reply, after I check the suspension and verify everything is up to par with the car, I think I'll venture at running the Starion hard again. I really found your reply inciteful. Thanks. I do hope it is the motor mounts and the balance shaft. working the suspension seems easier to work on than taking an engine apart. Thanks.
