My diff has a lot of slop in it. What is the most likely culprit?

I am parting out an '89. Up for sale right now is the front body panels as a package. I am asking $500 OBO. Located in Woodstock Ga. pickup preferd. I maybe able to meet you somewhere if you are farther out for alittle extra gas money. I had enough of the Expedition, sold it and went and bought a 2004 Volvo XC90 T6. Bought it with a bad headgasket, got a deal on it.
