I'm installing some jet valve eliminators and they won't fully tighten in the head? They start getting tight but then loosen like they're stripped but I know they're not. Is this normal?

Hello all-could use a little advise of help with my seems to be project car. Motor has been rebuilt, new bearings, freeze plugs, gaskets, crank was turned, new pistons, and piston rods, cam is new, head was re surfaced, block was bored .020, new oil pump, and water pump, new TC set. Put motor back in after sitting in my garage for months- fired right up first time. Idle was a little high so adjusted that. I pulled in after work last night and turned off my headlights and turned off my car. As I got my bags out of the car my headlights started blinking. All of my switches were off and the only way I could stop it was to disconnect the battery. There was a clicking sound under the hood that at first I thought it was the hazards. Anyone have this problem before? Anyone know how to fix this?
