i have been chasing a miss for a few weeks now. it all started with changing the plug wires and rotor and cap. the plugs , rotor and cap fixed my miss when under boost at WOT. but now i have a miss at idle and cruise. after 2 weekends of messing around and checking all that i can. including every ground i can find. i think i have it half way resolved. i replaced all the vac line from the T where the cruise control is to the t-body. i noticed the White Check Valves near the wiper motor do not seem to move smoothly or freely. thet seem to take A LOT of effort to get them to move. once they are blocking the vacuum it takes a ton to get them to open again. shouldn't they move easily with no force?. I tested them out off the car with clean hose and the suck test. on a side note i believe the GM MAF is also causing some issues. i need to get another one to test with. i will be doing the TPS reset tomorrow. too dark out. i did test the TPS with an analog meter and it sweeps just fine. i tested the ISC per MIKE C instructions and it seems to be functioning properly.

Had my Conquest for two years and still has the same problem. Though I've replaced alot of the ignition, the original problem is still there. What I'm experiencing is like a miss when I get on the gas at load. The engine stutters and I experience loss of power. Especially up hills (greater load). Now I see alot of people say, 'check the vac advance', but I've replaced it and tested the new one. The engine has been timed, properly, and everything but the distributor itself and the ignitor have been replaced. I'd rebuild it but no one has kits. Any Ideas?

I have an 87 conquest that has a periodic miss. It isn't consistent. It will idle well, then miss, miss, miss ---- fine, fine, miss miss, --- fine.... and so on. When I am driving it, it does the same thing. It runs okay, but I can feel the miss. It is sometimes worse than others. I am thinking I may have bad gas so I put in seafoam. It hasn't helped, but I am not done with the tank. The person who owned it last, put some really cheap wires on it, but it misses as much when you first start as when it gets warm. I had put in new plugs, but I am ashamed to say, I did not gap them. They were NGKs and the guy at the store said they were pre-gapped. I meant to regap and forgot. Anyway, any other ideas?
