Hey All, I am going to sell the 89 Starion, rather reluctantly, but there are some other projects in a back yard I need to clean out. Anyway this is a true 89 verified by a couple of VINs I snapped a picture of. This car I do believe was hit on drivers side before but was repaired fairly well. Also if you would notice there is a 4 bolt rear end rather than a 6 bolt. No this isn't a rare option, but was swapped when the car was repaired in 1998 from the looks of the autocheck that was done for me. As for the details. 1989 Mitsubishi Starion 5-Speed /w sunroof, Black on Black, Asking $2000 for the car and is located in Huntsville, AL. *Update 01-31-12* Will accept partial trade + cash for pistols (I know this limiting in some states). Nothing really specific, would prefer a more common caliber 9mm, .40 etc. The car does run and driver fairly well, just needs some TLC before I would make it a daily. The parking brake cables are rather tight and need to be lubricated, and all the brake calipers need to be gone through on top of that. The injectors DO NOT leak and it has strong oil pressure on startup and pretty average after it is warmed up. See the couple of pictures of the gauge cluster. There is rust starting to form on the passengers rear quarter, see pic, and the undercarriage of the car has surface rust on some. Pretty standard for a car that has lived up north for a while. It has a OVCP /w a blow-off, and works as it is supposed to. Also the AC compressor has been removed, but all the other AC parts are still intact. It does have KYB's all around on what looks like stock springs. Also an aftermarket radio has been installed. Well I wouldn't exactly saying giving life, buy maybe some much need TLC on it. Some of you might have seen it in the For Sale section however with the complete lack of interested I figured what they hay I might as well restore it. Anyway the bad right now: Rust coming through on rear quarters and surface rust on every bit of the under carriage. Fair repair job on what looks to be a substantial accident on the driver’s side. Slipping clutch (could be just do to adjustment) Overall paint condition and a few dings and molding holes that need to be filled. Rear brakes are sticking and no e-brake right now. The Good: The engine is strong and pulls very hard for a stock car (mostly stock) and superb oil pressure. That is about it... The Plan... Well to start with change of all the fluids. The engine oil smells a bit gassy and is not a thick as I would like. After than get a look at the brakes all around. I am thinking I will have to change out the rear calipers for some rebuilt ones and will flush the system with new fluid of course. I hope I can lubricate the e-brake cables and get it working as well. The next thing that absolutely needs to be done is valve cover gasket or where ever else I have oil leaking from. I plan on leaving the 4 bolt rear end until I break it so it could be a while. Whelp that is about it for now. As I do repairs and upgrades I will try and document with pictures to keep this updated here.
