  1. I have been keeping a watchful eye on this thread as well and haven't heard anything in quite some time. What is the deal? ???
  2. Yea, but I thought that whole "supraquest" thing was dead in the water? Haven't seen much activity in that thread at all as of late. I have an extra set of 4 adjustable shocks. I may do the whole "send off to rebuild" to SupraQuest and "replace" with the KYB ones in the meantime or something. I didnt' realize it was "that easy" to take out the OEM and replace with aftermarket. I thought some new mounts and stuff were required.. Good deal.
  3. How hard is it to change it from the adjustable OEM strut to those KYB struts? Mine are shot. And I mean SHOOOOTTTT! What does it entail? I doubt its as simple as yank the old strut out, put the KYB one directly in it's place?
  4. Thats where I got this one from. Â > Whats the black plug coming from the wiring harness on the Quest used for? Like I said, everything works on this radio, but there is a black plug left un-plugged
  5. Oh crap! Â I finally got mine in the mail today and it looks different then the one pictured here. Â The CD looks the same, however the radio portion is different. There is no EQ on this one and the volume control is a wheel, not a push button. Just for $hits and giggles, I put it into the 88 Quest. It went in and two out of 3 plugs plugged into the back of this unit. There are two white plugs which went in fine and one small black plug (no, not the antenna plug.) that didn't have anywhere to plug into on the backside of the radio. Turned on the radio and *wallauh* everything works. Now what the heck is the black plug for? Lemme guess? Steering wheel controls? > What the hell did I end up with????

    RVM Racing

This is the first time I have ever dealt with a company (Besides Kellydahman) that I have felt overwhelmed enough with it's customer service in order to leave Feedback here. The fine folks over at http://www.rvmracing.com are outstanding! Â I had dealings with Eli Green while placing a order for a Turbo XS Type H BOV. Â Not only were they the lowest priced I could find on the 'net for a new-in-the-box BOV but Eli's patience and customer service shined through the whole process. For some reason, there was a problem with my Credit Card purchase not going through. Â They emailed me on 4/22/03 and told me that I should contact them right away to rectify the problem. Â During the course of the day, and I mean the whole damn day, Eli was great. Â Whereas I lost my patience with my Credit Card company, Eli never lost his temper or his patience. Â If I was him, I would have said "Listen Pal, this isn't worth it, either cough up another Credit Card or shop somewhere else!" They never did. After wasting the better part of the day, with phone calls from me to RVM Racing and Eli placing calls to the Credit Card company and I placing calls to him, the order finally went through at around 1450HRS. Â I am assuming it went through because I recieved a UPS tracking Email in my InBox. I am posting this as a big Thank you to Eli, for his patience and understanding. Â Hopefully some of you all here will give his site @ http://www.rvmracing.com a look when making a decision to purchase something from a online vendor. Again, thanks for the help. Â Thanks for the great price and thanks for working out the problem with my order!
  7. Good damn luck trying to find one. When I saw this post I went to Ebay, they had one auction and it was up to somewhere near $100.00 with a "reserve not yet met". No thanks. I would buy a aftermarket deck for that price. I then checked around @ some salvage yards in NY, another dead end. So, it seems that I can't find a fan shroud off of a '84 Quest and a DSM Cd/Tape deck anywhere in NY. > I guess NY'ers don't total out DSM cars w/ that kind of a radio and there are just no '84 StarQuests laying around anywhere!
  8. Your dream, was my reality. Not pretty. Nor was it fun while driving down the road. I never knew the car could turn a 90 degree turn to the right on a dime. :-/
  9. Well if he can rebuild 'em like he says he can... and as long as he thoroughly washes his hands after touching a Honda before he touches my struts, then I dont see a problem. ;D
  10. Ahhh crap! So... umm... who's gonna be the next guinea pig? Â 8)
  11. Heron, sorry you have to be the guinea pig on this one. ;D Make sure you let us know how it goes. If the guy is for real and can do what he says he can, there are allot of interested parties here waiting.
  12. Ok, so did anyone get work performed by this Gentleman as of yet? I am interested as well to see the quality of work he performs... Please keep this thread going.
  13. Yup, dont even bother clicking on the USPS tracking website. Mine said it was in the same "HUB" every damn night. Until it arrived at my door. And then it still said it was in Jersey. lol
  14. Well I finally got mine last friday or something. In between kicking myself in the teeth w/ my stupid pop up headlight problem, I put on the shifter boot. The thing barely covers the insulation on the bottom/top (depending on how you are looking at it) of the tranny. When I go through the gears, I can see the insulation peeking out of the top left corner of the shifter boot. Tight fit. But at least I dont have tears in it.
  15. Still no shifter boot and today is the 22nd. The stupid USPS tracking page says the same thing over and over, it never gets updated. "Status is updated every evening, please check back." Lies. All lies!!! >
  16. Is JCWhitney that slow? I placed the order on the 15th of October, I still have yet to recieve the "your product has shipped" Email confirmation. Odd.
  17. Too late for that now. The motor is out of the blue car and so is the interior, both are sitting in the red car. And the frame was rotted where it meets the engine, all the way back to the middle of the car. I could push my finger right through the frame into the passenger compartment.
  18. Oh. Dont I feel like the complete moron now? Â ::)' I just ordered one. ;D

    Search

The search inquiry on this site needs some work. I had bookmarked a bunch of "how to" pages, something happened and now all my boookmarks point back to the main page, instead of the indiviual forum topics. I tried searching for the topics again... the search inquiry turned up everything but the topics I am searching for. :-[ If you can get a little more "juice" out of the search engine, that would be nice.
  20. Ok, I can't particularly tolerate that color. My '89 Conquest was that nice "blue", and it looked great. Now since my 89 had developed a really bad case of the old "frame rot", I went out and bought a '88 Car that had a blown motor and a garbage interior. After 4 years, I finally got the motor rebuilt, the interior in and I am now replacing everything, fixing small problems.. .etc...etc.. I would very much like to repaint the car the blue color but it would kill me to pop the hood and see a red engine bay. So my question to you "red" Conquest owners is.... what color "red' you got? It needs to be bright red... and look nice. You have pictures? Paint codes.... whatever, please let me know. TIA!
  21. No offense... but holy crap is that thing ever ugly! My shifter boot is torn to shreds as well, but I don't think I will pay $30 for that thing. There has got to be something else out there that is a little more asthetically pleasing.
