  1. Im seriously considering it! The more voltures that come trying to pick it for parts the more guilty I feel selling it. But Im really a noob and have little to no knowledge. But if you have patience and are willing to share your knowledge with me, not only would i appreciate it but I'd be willing to pay you too.

Im selling my starion due to a lack of: time, space, and mechanical prowess. I had to rebuild her engine back in 2005 and once we got her running again she was running very rich. So, being unable to remedy the problem she sat for about 2-3 yrs in the elements. Now I am trying to the sell the car WHOLE (not just the wheels). -Freshly rebuilt engine. -Over 200,000 miles on the chasis. -BSE kit -BOV -SHP wheels (needs new tires). -Palemero grey paint peeling off the hood and roof of vehicle. -5 Speed manual - Black leather interior Please see my craigslist ad b/c its proving to be too difficult for me to add photos to the site (I can e-mail more to folks who are interested). Still not use to the new site yet... http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/2790103507.html
  3. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/2790103507.html Of course I'll always give priority to SQC members and please dont ask me just for the wheels... If I cant sell her whole Im going to try and pay someone to fix her because I dont have any space to work on her or the mechanical prowess. Kinda sucks.
  4. I may hit you up asking for some of your knowledge/support here on sqc since I've moved from socal... but lord knows if it wasn't for this forum I would not have gotten as far as I have with this lovely car.
  5. Well, it was always my understanding that if you don't modify the car too much and let it remain mostly stock starquests are actually quite reliable cars. Another thing to consider is, how much money do you think you will actually get for it? Whatever amount you get will it be enough to help you through your financial crisis or will the cash evaporate the moment it meets your hands? Maybe you should sit on it and really make sure you want to part with it. I waited two years and am glad I came here to discuss it (of which I would anyway to give members first dibs) before I actually sold it.
  6. Actually, weekends would work out great for me! The car was drivable before I stopped trying to fix it like two years ago when the engine blew. We were able to replace everything and get her to start but it was running soo very rich. I thought maybe the timing was off... then I thought maybe something was wrong with the fuel system even though we had no problem before with it which I guess may still be a lingering issue. But, I let a former sqc member/friend try and help me and all he really did was tear s*** out of the car without telling me what he was doing... So a lot of the smog s*** is missing too and I don't know where to begin... the wiring and hosing makes no sense to me anymore. But, if we replace the battery she should start right up again and run like s***. Obviously, its kind of a mess.
  7. I'm close to that area! I would love the help and if you guys take the time to teach me some things and are patient with me I will totally throw some cash your way (and maybe some cookies too as I am proficient in the culinary arts).
  8. I'm not necessarily trying to sell it to make money or anything... I'm thinking of selling it because letting it continue to rot in the elements is a travesty.
  9. Shut up Dave! You know I got that stupid nut back on it.... Last I had her running (like 2 years ago) she was also running rich which I could never find a solution too. Not to mention, I kept finding little misc bs things that were wrong with it from when we rebuilt the engine. smh... But summer is coming and I have a little more free time. I just know right now, I don't have enough knowledge to do it alone and all my other car buddies hate my car now lol.
  10. I'm in the Bay now, I use to live in Socal. Yeah, I think I am going to keep it... but I'm going to need a lot of help from very patient people.
  11. As my title suggests I still have my '87 palmero grey starion of which I have an attachment to. I've dumped a lot of money into and still had issues with it once I got her running again. I miss driving and tinkering with it (pretending I know what I'm doing), but I think it may be time I part with it. Its a good car that I'm just letting rot in the sun due to lack of mechanical knowledge and time.... but I still love it and don't want to part her out. What do you guys think? Sell her or try and fix it one last time?
  12. All the pictures on here got me all excited to get my starion running again, esp. the pictures of the palmero grey (or golden) starions posted for obvious reasons. All I have are these ones from MOD'05... I know they are tired but I want to post too. http://http//i469.photobucket.com/albums/rr53/pumakitten_photos/puma.jpg http://http//i469.photobucket.com/albums/rr53/pumakitten_photos/pums.jpg I can't wait till she is running again. -Dani

    HELP!

That is actually the first thing I checked when I attempted to start it. I found that its hosing wasn't even connected as well as not having the clips we put on it a couple years ago. I am sure I am going to be finding a lot of these types of problems.

    HELP!

We actually thought this was the issue for awhile, but the timing is correct. They are in good condition as that has all been replaced, but I did have some hosing eliminated... and so to best of knowledge all the hosing is fine. This is something that I am not sure of and will check when I install the new CTS. Replaced it when I rebuilt the engine so it is brand new. Injectors are not leaking and are properly hooked up.
