I would like more details about the wiper delete. What did you plug the back side with? What else needed to be done. I did a search for "wiper delete" last night and came up with nothing. This morning I viewed your thread and what did I find...?

Nope. I believe it was on craigslist for $3500 with a running parts car. In fact, this is the craigslist add photo and you can see the parts car behind the Camero. Now it is for sale again without the parts car and for more $. He has owned this car for less than three months. I believe he traded a third gen supra for it. I am not saying the car isn't worth the asking price as I have not seen it. All I am saying is the car was for sale recently for less money with an additional car. He traded a car for it and now, within a few months, he is trying to sell it again. Seems odd to me.

Sad. He has ruined your car. I liked it much better when you owned it. Go back to your "goodbye" thread and look at the car then as compared to now. Very, very sad. I wish I would have bought it. It would look the same today as it did back then.

Live in NC now but was in CA when the red car became available. I was supposed to look at it after my return to NC. You beat me to it. Sounded like a great car for a great price. Enjoy.

How is a Conquest not "the real deal"?

So it doesn't sound like there is a clear preferred year. It seems the 86's (seat belts, F.I.), 88's and 89's (rear ends, ecu's, transmission) all have preferred equipment. Is there nothing that was the best in 87? If I am not mistaken, I should look for the cleanest starquest in the color I want for the best price. Then take parts from other year models to create a starquest collage that is right for me. Yes?

I have had other members recommend against running without the MAS. Who to believe? Also, would you 86 owners not recommend "upgrading" the ECU to a later year?

I see there are many of you that favor the 86, please indulge me. What makes the 86 the BEST year? Also, what are the must do mods that should be done to a stock 86?

I thought the injectors from the later models might be interchangeable but not according to T.E.P.: "1986 cars are unique. The F.I. components are not interchangeable with the 87-89 cars. The difference is that the 1986’s used a simultaneous fire injectors system. Both injectors fired at the same time. The 87-89 cars used a progressive system with a Primary and Secondary injector. The injectors are also not interchangeable. They look the same and will fit the same but they will not work." I am currently in the market for a Starion/Conquest. Should I take T.E.P.'s advice and focus on 88 and 89 models? Do 86's and 87's have disadvantages that cannot be easily overcome? I look forward to any feedback you can give me. If you do respond please do so in simple terms. I have been poking around this site for years but a lot of the technical stuff is still over my head. Thanks.

This section could be used to post good experiences we have with mechanics, parts suppliers, and people doing business on this site. Also, it could be used to warn others about those that cannot be trusted. I have had people send me personal notes telling me to stay clear of certain people and companies. It would be nice to go to a section and check whether or not the person or company you are about to trust has a good track record. A system like ebay has would be great! David

The car that everyone seems to be talking about was for sale ($3500) in auto trader about three months ago. The car was blue, had low miles, 3000gt headlights, Toyota Supra tail lights and MR2 side vents. Much prefer the stock look myself. David
