  1. even with a 2.25" K&N on the back of the valve cover it smokes when I go from full boost to throttle shut and spools slower than an 18g and doesn't hit near as hard as a 14g, or a 12a, for that matter...it only does that with this turbo on it.

     

    the tires are 245's with alotta neg. camber, but they seem like a very hard compound (cheaptires.com...lol) and I shift hard and fast as heck when I'm mashin' the gas at full boost, though...and they break loose in third, not spin through the whole gear...they spin through 1st, 2nd, and I guess you'd say "slipp-ige" occurs goin' into third

    yeah, they say they did it twice...if they rebuilt this turbo they do a pisspoor job that any ten year old can do...lol

    lol...I was thinking on running the 12a on the dyno and then compare it to the s16g someone gets it figured out...gotta tune the safcII anyway...mebbe try to degree my cam while I'm there.

    um, no...I didn't even get done at Joe's house until after ten last night...he had safcII wiring problems...plus the turbo I bought from him took a dump on the way home...for the second time...but I can spin 'em through third with a 12a or break axles, so, I'm sure it makes decent power...I just can't wait to find out exactly what it puts down and when.

  4. I doubt it's a special order. I've seen Palermo with black, as well as tan interior, but one thing that Palermos never came with was marroon interior. The "gold" SQ color that you're thinking of that came with Marroon interior was Shetland Beige. It was real close in color to Palermo, and I'm pretty sure only available with marroon interior.

  5. Im going to say numbers similar to my last motor that died in January. 275whp and 360wtq. Our set ups are very similar. The main differences are the cam and safc. My numbers were at 24psi, but the rockers where smashing into the valve seals, so my valve lift was compromised.

     

    what timing were you running and what cam?

    324hp +/- 12hp

    333tq +/- 10lb/in

     

     

    I'm going under the assumption you were running less than 22psi of boost the first time with the turbo dumped.

    Remember, it's cheating if you come back with numbers at a higher boost level. And "it ran so fine, we just kept adding fuel/boost" is no excuse.

     

    lol...I already stated I was running 20 psi...this time I will be running 22psi...the only thing that will be adjusted will be timing via factory dist. and the safcII...I plan on taking video as well...so even if I go to 25 psi this'll be for the 22psi runs...I mentioned the 50 wet shot, right? :lol:

    Or they were never recorded?

     

    Also, I don't know if you can tell this or not, but would you be able to calculate the duty cycle that your secondary is experiencing at full boost?

     

    if I told you then it'd be too easy to guess...lol

     

    They weren't recorded, though...turbo took a dump and lost a quart of oil due to crank case ventilation problems

     

    I'm expecting higher than all the guesses so far, but I haven't advanced my cam yet, either.

     

    I don't know about calculating or tuning poop...that's where Joe comes in...lol

  8. What fuel pump are you running? Also, when you kept trimming fuel out, was it this similar setup you used? with the GM3" with SAFC?

     

     

    I was under the impression the limit of the CCs on the stock injectors were the limitation of boost.

     

    Walbro 255lph and I was running everything except the safcII...was just using the translator.

    You have factory sized injectors, seem like they would peter out at 20PSI wouldn't they?

    If you get an over-sized secondary, you can trim up the fuel after you turn the boost up higher.

    If hit 22 PSI and keep it cool.

     

    lol...Last time Joe/4cylfury and I took her to the dyno I was runnin' 20psi with the stockers and still had a ton of fuel to pull outta it, ten flat to low tens, so I don't think it'll be a problem...we made about six pulls and was takin' fuel out everytime and still had too much...heck, I've seen 28/30 psi with the stockers when my boost controller came apart and was still in the tens
