Yup there were several. However the plugs were different. I was able to find one off an na 2jz lexus. I also found coil connectors off a tercel that fit perfectly on the 2j coils. Cam gears, usdm cams, Injectors, Radiator, rad hoses, intercooler piping all coming in this week.

You may be referring to the 4 valve factory head issue. If so u r right, ford had an issue with this on the exhaust side of the stock heads. I'm not saying it can't happen, but my heads are far from factory. On the viper shaft, I've looked into them before. That's something I'll consider when the need arises.

Funny you mention that. I have a more aggressive tune that's been sitting on my desktop for a year now. At this point it's not needed IMO. This is plenty of power for the street (darn near too much). Although this is a fairly safe tune, 12.0 + is bit too lean for most boosted cobras. During the tuning process, I saw 12.5 and up to 13.0 and was instructed to lift if I saw anything above 12. I need to add a roll cage and maybe try out the Texas mile. Thanks

Thanks. I was gonna order that one last night but was just wondering if I could find it at the salvage yard for cheaper and with the wiring connections already secured. Ill be there tomorrow anyway. The 1uz, if I'm not mistaken, is the Toyota v8. I doubt there will be any of those laying at the junkyard but we will see tomorrow.

Since I'm needing the plugs to the ecu that are usually missing does anyone know if these can found at the junkyard and if they might be the same as the na 2jz or 1jz? Thanks

Picked up a set of stock usdm cams for under 100 bucks. For those that may not know, the 2j usdm intake cam has a bit more lift/duration than the JDM intake cam. It yields some where around 8hp over the jdm. The exh cams are the same. This will be fine for me for now until I save up enough for hks 264's. I'm on the hunt now for some ID injectors...I believe 850cc-1000cc high imp will be enough. Yeah that's it. don't worry about using that DCC controller, their service is horrible. I can send you pics and information of the controller that I used And the way I trimmed the shroud. Ordered the aeromotive 340 in tank. A buddy is giving me a used Bosch 044 in line. So aside from injectors I'm hoping my fuel system will be good to go. I'm debating on whether to buy cams or injectors next. Tough decision...

I got my gates belt off eBay for under 75 bucks. As for fuel, I'm going with drift motion fuel rail kit, aeromotive 340 stealth in tank, -8an feed -6am return. I also have a buddy that's giving me his old Bosch 044 inline just in case the 340 can't support 500whp on e85. Ordered fuel pressure regulator kit from ebay for under 130 bucks. I'm in the same boat as you, Not wanting to cheap out but trying to save where ever possible. As for fan, I pulled a fan off a lincoln mark 8 for 15 bucks. google it, these fans pull 5000cfm. this is the fan im using in my stang along with a fan controller. Its a large fan so fitment could be an issue but the housing can be trimmed. Btw, i also 4 kids and they drive me nuts. You have my respect and well wishes doing it alone. Good luck

The motor mounts were 220 shipped if I remember correctly. As for the manifold, that is good to know. I almost gave up on it several times. I believe it will be fine now. Have a few updates...put on my down pipe, oil feed line kit, fuel rail and intake. Also got a look at the recipient of this motor just a few hours ago. Its an 87 that has been sitting uncovered in this same spot for the last 7 years. It might look like its in bad shape and it is...there are a few dents one of the front driver's side fender and one on the qtr panel. The front fender can be replaced and the rear qtr panel will be a challenge and learning experience for me. Honestly, I like the way the paint is faded. It looks like matt black to me. That stuff on the hood and roof isn't rust, its a mixture of sap and dirt that seemed would come off with a good scrubbing. It will also come with a good set of 9" rims and a 6-bolt rear. It has all the original interior pcs and sunroof plus it only reads 77k miles on it. Price was great and its only 30 minutes away from me. Been a slow process up to this point. Been taking care of some family obligations. Here are a few updated pics from this afternoon. Going to run a PT67, which should easily get me 450-500hp. Cleaned up some items, painted others and replaced some as well. I have been using driftmotion for most of my ordering but this manifold was definitely a mistake. This is their cheap ebay type manifold...I had to modify both the T4 flange (cut it off and angle it) and the 50mm waste gate flange had to be cut and shortened. Also, the bolt holes on the left side of the head had to be drilled out and reamed in order for it to bolt on. Hopefully it holds up as I cannot justify paying 1000-1600 for name brand mani. Also had the intake painted wrinkle black. Will get that installed this week and post up some pics. Lastly, got an R154 trans, shifter, clutch assy and ds in a few weeks ago. pulled turbos and exhaust mani off today. Didn't really like the way the valves looked but I think they will be okay.
