  1. I have to agree with you, if the money was better i would go back to factory setup with a pepier cam, but when i got my new head i sent in the valvetrain with the core
  2. It was about 5 yrs ago, I called the shop and whent over with you the parts that I was recomended for the set up and you agreed that the longer valves would be the ones to use. I ended up getting the valve springs, valves, locks, and a bag full of new studs, and nuts for the head. dont worry, I understand if you dont remember me ;)LOL
  3. $20 sounds good. let me doube check to see if what I have IS a 1.6 rollerrocker and ill get back to you
  4. You must of missunderstood me, The rocker shafts on my quest are the correct one for the hydraulic rockers... I know this becouse I changed them. and unfortunately all the parts where new.
  5. I have the longer valves that Dad recomended, the springs that Dad recomended and the cam is the monstabanshee from a member here. no one ever mentiond washers that go how you explained in your post. how would i determin If I needed it?
  6. You can make the change to Hyraulic rollers but you will need to also change to a hydraulic cam, the rocker shafts have to be changed to the hyraulic set also (you will need oil to get to the rockers and lifters). They are quieter but you can make better hp and more rpm on our starquest factory set up and an after market cam(not to mention it will be cheaper because it will take less parts to make it work)
  7. I have a stuck lifter on my quest and am now looking to replace the rocker and lifter!! does any one know where I can find them sold as singles and not a whole set?
  8. I do have the proper rocker arms and the car seems to have proper oil presure. all the other lifters just fall out of the rockers. I guess I need to find a new rocker and a lifter, do you know where i can find them in singles and also how do I ask for them since they are not a stock part on the quest?
  9. I do have the proper rocker arms for the hydraulic roller set up on there, I dont get what you ment by a washer under the lifters? i installed it my self, The car has not been on the road aside from just driving it around the block for a test drive. I guess my next question would be (if there is no other way out of it)where can I find a single rocker and a single lifter? i bought the everything from this site a couple of years ago dont really remember the name...I do remember that that they did sell rebuilt rockers!
  10. I have a hydrolic roller lifter set up which is pretty much new and i noticed that one of the lifters was nocking, i took the valvetrain apart and yes one of the lifters is stuck inside a rocker...... my question is how do I get the lifter to come out with out damaging ither of the two parts?
  11. Indiana, thanks for the info! I converted my quest to a roller set up from Tim C. with a monsta banshee cam. The cam he sent me is a front wheel drive cam. The problem that Im having is the one you explained, it pukes out oil. I have used 2 seals at a time but no luck, do you have any other ideas? the reson I asked about the rear wheel drive 4g54 cam picture was to see where I can cut mine at it at, but if there is another way to fix it I would like to try it. does any one know the part number to the front wheel drive cam seal? when I bought the seals the guys at crap a zone were having problems finding it in the computer, I wonder if I have the proper ones and also, I will need the part number for the rear wheel drive cam plug, just in case I do cut the cam. I also asked for this part a crap a zone and they coulnt find it in the computer! Thanks again.
  12. does anyone have a picture of a stock starquest cam, I have a front wheel drive 4g54 cam and I need to see how much shorter the stock is fron the FWD one. Thanks!!!
  13. Im not too woried about the offset what I as woried about was that the bolt pattern would be the same as the quest.
